World Interiors Day is celebrated annually to highlight the artistry and importance of Interior Design in our everyday lives. The spaces we live, work, play, and otherwise pass through can change how we see and experience our day to day life.

Last Friday, a few of our team members participated in Fairways for Futures, supporting Anchored Hope , Foundations Learning Center, and Martha's House of Hope. The month of May is recognized as Historic Preservation Month. We want to highlight one of our most recent design projects that falls in that category: Boone FLEX. Once home to the Boone YMCA that had fallen into disrepair, this building was in need of updating for modern use. We advised the owners on needed changes for code compliance and improved layout as well as updated finishes that would compliment the provenance of this historic building. We love how elements of the old integrate so well with the new so we could preserve the history of this building. We are excited to see it continue to serve the community!

This unique project affectionately called Maker Space started with an old barn and a big vision. The space has been converted into a main floor working area with the cutest kitchenette ever, custom staircase with storage, fun little powder room, and a long work station wall to be used for various projects.

Behind the general working area there is a full wood shop, where we repurposed wood from the existing barn to create two unique feature walls, as well as two newly powder coated Dutch doors from the old exterior. The main floor features polished concrete floors, an exposed ceiling, and multi-purpose white boards. The upper level has been converted to a quilting room with an amazing long arm quilting machine. The entire space offers our very innovative clients an inspiring space to quilt, build, and create!
