TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT | DARYN KEPLEY

Daryn is joining us as an interior design intern while she continues her education at Iowa State University, pursing a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design. She graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Iowa State University in May of 2026 and quickly decided that she wasn’t done learning.

“We are so excited to have Daryn join our team! Her ability to jump right in and take on projects from day one has been so helpful. She always looking for ways to continue to learn and grow and has made a wonderful addition to the team!” shared Amber Betsworth, Interior Designer.

🐈Fun Fact: Daryn is an Ames Native and when she isn’t studying or helping design interiors, she is a mom to two fur babies; Leo and Frankie!

One of our favorite things about designing for education? No two spaces, schools, or campuses are the same.

From K-12 to higher education, each project starts with understanding the people who will use the space and creating something that works for them.

Wishing students and educators a great start to their year!

Have you spotted this new mural in downtown Ames?!

We loved getting out of the office for a walk down Main Street to see team member Gina Swartz’s new mural! Her design is an abstract take on the map of Ames, inspired by the city’s natural and built environments and the memories made within them.

If you’re in the area, stop by and see it for yourself in the Cynthia Duff Plaza!

Strand Associates new 30,000 SF office at the Iowa State University Research Park is all about connection: to each other, the Ames community and the outdoors.

Large northern windows bring in natural light and views of the surrounding landscape, while a variety of spaces give the team room to focus, collaborate and gather. Together, these thoughtful details create a welcoming new home for Strand’s growing team.
