This home in Nevada, Iowa already had bat work completed by someone else… but the bats were still getting in. 🦇

We were called in to solve the problem. Once we got on the roof, it became pretty clear why.

We found:
✔️ Large roof edge gaps
✔️ Missing trim pieces
✔️ Separated fascia
✔️ Open siding transitions
✔️ Multiple hidden entry points that had never been sealed

This is why proper bat exclusion is about much more than just “getting the bats out.” A long-term solution means identifying every construction gap and custom-building repairs that permanently seal the home.

For this project, we custom bent metal on-site to match the structure and permanently close gaps along the roofline and siding transitions. More work? Absolutely. But a much better long-term result for the homeowner.

Welcome Levi to the Creed Pest Control team!

Over the past several weeks, Levi has put in the work—learning the systems, sharpening his skills, and earning his own route. That’s no small accomplishment, and we’re proud to have him representing our company out in the field.

Levi joins us after 10 years of active duty in the U.S. Army. He and his wife live in Huxley with their three children, and now he’s continuing his service in a new way—helping local families protect their homes.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get ready for the busy season.

As we gear up for spring bat season, Josh has been learning metal bending—shaping custom pieces by hand that will eventually be used out in the field. It’s one of those skills that only comes through hands-on practice, patience, and repetition.

True to form, he picked it up quickly and has already been putting together some solid work. It’s always rewarding to see the time and effort come together into something real.

This is the quiet prep work that happens long before the season starts.

Josh and I took care of a rodent problem today that had been going on in this home for years.

We were in the crawlspace, the basement, the attic, and outside along the foundation—tracking down every entry point and sealing them one by one. Some of them were in tight, uncomfortable spaces, but that’s what it takes to truly solve the problem.

This is the part of the job we love. Digging deep. Figuring it out. Taking pride in doing it the right way, not the easy way.

We worked had to take care of this home and ensure mice no longer bring stress and anxiety to its wonderful homeowners.

We both felt a sense of pride and satisfaction in walking away knowing we helped our customer take their home back and sleep better tonight!
