I couldn’t even tell you what variety this is. I saved seeds from last year so there is a possibility this was a cross breed. But who cares 😻

Apple River Blooms went on a field trip to the Skagit Valley in Washington state for their tulip festival! This trip was *purely* educational 😉 Tulips come in three different bloom timeframes - early, mid, and late blooming bulbs. We were lucky enough to get there during the late bloom. Tulip farms plant bulbs in the fall or mid winter to give the bulbs the cool time they need to bloom. Once the tulips bloom, workers remove the flower portion of the plant and leave the green leaves, allowing the plant to continue to gather energy from the sun. Once the green leaves die back, the farm will dig all of the bulbs out of the ground and sell the bulbs for next year’s season. Thank you Kayla Copeland for joining me! 🌷
