Yesterday, we laid a great man to rest.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Fred Carter, the original founder of Tex Mex Fence Supply, who passed away Saturday, September 26, at the age of 95.

In 1981, Fred founded Tex Mex Fence Supply with a vision, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to treating people right. What began at our original location on Grand Street grew through years of hard work, perseverance, and the relationships Fred built with customers and people throughout our community.

More than 45 years later, Tex Mex Fence Supply continues to thrive as a family business. The company we are today was built on the foundation Fred laid all those years ago. His determination, business sense, and belief in the importance of taking care of people created a legacy that continues through his family and through Tex Mex.

We are incredibly proud of what Fred built and grateful for the life he lived. His impact reaches far beyond the business itself — it can be seen in the generations of family who followed him, the countless customers and friendships made along the way, and a company that continues to carry forward the values he established in 1981.

These photos show Fred and Tex Mex Fence Supply in its early days at the original Grand Street location, as well as recent photos — a reminder of just how far his vision, hard work, and dedication carried us.

We will miss him greatly, but we are honored to continue what he started.

Thank you, Fred, for building something that became so much more than a business. Your legacy lives on. ❤️
