EXTREME COLD WARNING
Prepare your homes:
Plumbing
Open the cabinets underneath your sinks, let your faucet drip.
Remove your garden hoses from your outdoor faucets.
Cover the hose faucets.
Cover any vents around your home foundation.
Locate your water shut off valve in case you need to shut your water off quickly.
HVAC
Check your carbon monoxide detectors and replace the batteries if necessary .
Your heaters will work hard. Make sure you have a clean filter so the airflow isn’t compromised.
Windows and doors seal any gaps with weatherstripping to prevent drafts.
