"Can you break down the estimate?" Absolutely!!

And honestly? You SHOULD ask. A real estimate should itemize materials, labor, tear off, disposal, underlayment, flashing, and warranty. If someone hands you one number with no breakdown, that's a red flag, not a convenience.

Ask questions. Good contractors want you to.

Me walking a homeowner through their options like it's a life or death decision. Because for your roof, kinda is 💅

Real talk though: you usually have more options than you think. Full replacement isn't always the answer. Sometimes it's a repair, sometimes it's partial, sometimes insurance covers more than you expected. A good roofer tells you all of it, not just the most expensive one!

POV: I’m in marketing, not on the roof, and I’m just doing my best out here... 😅😂

For anyone wondering what actually goes into a shingle install, it’s a lot more than just nailing shingles down.

There’s decking inspection, underlayment, ice and water shield in the valleys, starter strips, proper nail placement, and ridge caps. Every step matters.

Skip one, and you could be dealing with leaks way sooner than you should.

The crew makes it look easy… but trust me, it’s not 😂
