Just a guy in Cu***ng who watched a few YouTube videos and decided to swing the hammer himself.

Everyone tells me RTA cabinets are "cheap."

Pull one of our drawers all the way open. Look inside. Tell me what you see.

You see a dovetail joint — not a staple. You see a 5/8" solid hardwood box — not particle board with a sticker. You see a soft-close undermount slide that catches the weight on the way back in. You see the same plywood construction the high-end shops use, sitting inside a box you assembled yourself for a fraction of the price.

"Cheap" is a particle-board carcass with a melamine wrap and a 1-year warranty. That's what gets sold at the big-box store with a 6-week lead time.

3 things most cabinet showrooms won't tell you about double oven cabinets — until your appliance shows up and the cutout is wrong.

I've watched too many homeowners learn this the hard way.

1) Cutout specs matter MORE than the cabinet label.
A 30" double oven cabinet doesn't fit every 30" double oven. KitchenAid is different from GE. GE is different from Wolf. Pull your oven's spec sheet FIRST, then order the cabinet — not the other way around.

2) You need 1.5" of clearance behind the oven.
Most builders forget this. Your oven needs room to breathe and room for the gas line, electrical, venting. Flush against the wall = drywall surgery after install.

3) Solid doors beat glass on high-heat zones.
