Just a few days ago, Architectural Digest ran an interesting story on slate being reimagined in ways that reflect today's architectural priorities (https://www.architecturaldigest.com/contributor-content/story/slate-is-showing-up-differently-now-contemporary-meets-resilient-performance).

Timing wise, this story coincided with our team finishing a nearly year-long, expertly-coordinated, creatively challenging, and, in the end, REWARDING project of installing new slate on a historic property in the College Hill area of Easton. Watching this property and these buildings come "back to life" throughout this project -- including the very careful application of slate on the tower roof -- transformed this entire job from "house that got a new roof" to "historical architectural property that had its roofing restored as part of the architecture."

The copper work also elevates the entire project; the copper our team installed around the hips, valleys, wall transitions and edges isn't merely functional -- it becomes part of the design itself.

This isn't just the story of "another roofing job." This was a labor of love from a team known for superior slate work. This is a true craftsmanship story. And our team was very proud to be a part of it!

Happy Monday, !

Some homes just come alive with the right color, and this recent project our team completed in Center Valley was one of them!

For this new roof, our team installed GAF - Roofing Timberline HDZ shingles in the color of Pewter Gray, which is a shade that pairs beautifully with this home’s siding and stonework. But the real star of the job is the black chimney flashing. The previous white flashing blended into the old roof, but this new contrast adds definition and instantly elevates the home’s curb appeal. Wouldn't you agree?

It’s amazing how thoughtful color choices can transform a home’s entire aesthetic. That’s why our team loves partnering with homeowners to find the perfect match for their project.

Recently, our Paul Wright Roofing team completed a commercial roofing project in East Allentown, a community we're proud to call home for our family business.

What looked like a simple roof replacement quickly revealed years of hidden damage. In some areas, old roofing and tar buildup measured nearly 5 inches thick, and extensive wood replacement was needed throughout the project. Our crew got to work on a Monday and it took several days for the project to wrap up.

In total, we installed 84 squares of EPDM roofing, giving this building a fresh start after years of persistent leaks.

Why EPDM? This roofing system is known for:
✅ Outstanding durability and weather resistance
✅ Excellent protection against leaks and moisture intrusion
✅ Energy-efficient performance
✅ Long service life with minimal maintenance
✅ Reliable performance through Pennsylvania's changing seasons

As a company rooted in East Allentown, this project meant a little more to us. We believe in treating every customer like a neighbor because, in this case, they truly are. We're proud to help strengthen the buildings and businesses that make our community thrive.

The leaks may have been a problem for years, but they're officially a thing of the past.

Transformation underway!

Our team recently installed GAF - Roofing Timberline HDZ Charcoal shingles on a home that’s about to receive brand‑new windows, siding, soffit, fascia, and gutters.

This is the smartest way to upgrade a home’s exterior. When everything is replaced together, you get:

-Cleaner, leak‑proof transitions

-Stronger protection at roof‑to‑wall joints

-Fresh fascia and soffit to support new gutters

-No damage to old siding or window trim during tear‑off

-A fully coordinated, modern exterior

Roof replacements expose hidden issues like soft fascia, failing ventilation, or damaged trim. Handling all of it in one project ensures the home is protected for decades — and looks incredible when finished.

We’re excited to see this transformation come together over the next two weeks. Follow along as we share further updates!

Happy Thursday, !

Our team recently completed a mobile home roof using GAF - Roofing Timberline HDZ shingles in Shakewood, and the transformation was fantastic. The new roof not only looks sharp , but gives the home a stronger, safer, longer‑lasting system built the right way.

Mobile homes have lightweight roof framing, which means weight limits are strict. Their structures are only designed to handle 20–30 pounds per square foot, so installing a new roof isn’t just about choosing a color. It’s about protecting the home without overloading it.

What Makes Mobile Home Roofing Different:

No shingle layering: We always remove the old roof to keep the structure safe.

Lightweight trusses: Older 2x2 or 2x4 trusses can sag if too much weight is added.

Weather loads matter: Snow, ice, and wind all count toward the total roof load.

That’s why a single layer of Timberline HDZ shingles is such a smart choice. They stay within safe weight limits while offering excellent wind resistance, strong durability, and a clean, upgraded look.

If your mobile home roof is showing signs of sagging, soft spots, or gutter separation, our team can help you get ahead of the problem with a safe, properly installed roofing system.

Happy Tuesday, Lehigh Valley!

Today, we're sharing a Bethlehem project that required significant structural wood replacement before we could install the new GAF - Roofing Timberline HDZ Mission Brown shingles. The underlying issue: widespread rot in the fascia and soffit system.

Wood rot forms when moisture remains in contact with cellulose long enough for fungal decay to begin. In roofline assemblies, the most common failure points include:

Gutter overflow — prolonged saturation of fascia boards

Compromised soffit ventilation — humidity trapped behind the fascia

Failed trim sealant — direct water intrusion into framing members

Once fascia boards lose structural integrity, the load path for gutter fasteners fails, leading to detachment. Moisture then migrates into soffit cavities and exterior wall assemblies, potentially affecting sheathing, insulation, and framing. Soft wood also attracts pests such as carpenter ants and termites.

Preventative components like drip edge and rake edge are critical for directing water away from vulnerable trim and roofline intersections.

How do you keep this from happening to your home/roof? Here are a few inspection priorities for homeowners across our region; our team would be happy to come out and take a look to help you identify these problem areas:

Fascia: probe for softness; look for paint delamination

Soffits: check for sagging or separation at joints

Exterior trim: inspect caulk joints and substrate firmness

Deck ledger boards: verify structural soundness at attachment points

If you’ve noticed peeling paint, loose gutters, or soft trim, reach out. We’re here to help keep your home protected from the top down.

Heat wave? What heat wave?! 🤣

Our team has spent the week hustling through whatever Mother Nature is throwing our way, in an effort to make sure our customers get the superior protection they need for their homes.

At this house in Easton, our team installed GAF - Roofing HDZ shingles in the color of Charcoal, providing a beautiful "Before and After" and helping the curb appeal on this property really stand out in the summer sun! 🌞

As we kick off our Friday, we're hoping you all have fun plans to beat the heat over the weekend!
