EXPERIENCED SPRAY FOAM PRODUCTION CREW LEADER
Colony Insulation | Southeast Michigan
Colony Insulation is looking for an experienced spray foam professional who is ready for more than just another installer job.
This is a serious position for somebody who wants responsibility, wants to lead a crew, and wants an opportunity to grow into a major role within a growing insulation and building-performance company.
We are looking for somebody who already understands the spray foam industry and knows what it takes to get a job done correctly, safely, efficiently, and professionally.
This person will be expected to help run the production side of the job — not simply show up and spray foam.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You need real spray foam experience.
You should be comfortable with:
• Running a spray foam rig and understanding the equipment
• Spraying closed-cell foam consistently and professionally
• Recognizing good foam versus bad foam
• Understanding temperatures, pressures, substrate conditions, and jobsite conditions
• Troubleshooting equipment and production problems
• Planning the work before the crew starts
• Keeping production moving throughout the day
• Leading and directing other crew members
• Training less-experienced employees
• Inspecting the work instead of assuming it was done correctly
• Keeping the jobsite clean and organized
• Protecting the customer's home or building
• Communicating problems before they become bigger problems
• Documenting the job properly
• Taking care of the truck, trailer, rig, equipment, tools, and materials
• Making sure the crew leaves the job complete — not leaving problems for somebody else to fix
THE LEADERSHIP SIDE MATTERS
I am not just looking for the best sprayer I can find.
I am looking for somebody who can become a strong production leader.
That means taking responsibility for the entire job.
If something is wrong, you address it.
If somebody on the crew doesn't know how to do something, you teach them.
If production is falling behind, you figure out why.
If the scope doesn't make sense, you speak up before the crew starts doing the wrong work.
If something gets damaged, you report it.
If the job isn't ready, you don't just push through and create a bigger problem.
If the work isn't good enough, you fix it before calling the job complete.
I need somebody who thinks beyond the spray gun.
WHAT THIS OPPORTUNITY CAN BECOME
Colony is growing, and I am actively working toward building multiple strong production crews.
I need people around me who want to grow with that.
For the right person, this position can develop into substantially more responsibility within production, training, field leadership, and eventually operations.
I'm not promising somebody a title just because they have been spraying foam for a long time.
The opportunity comes with performance.

WHO PROBABLY WON'T FIT HERE
This probably isn't the right position if you want to show up, spray foam, and let somebody else worry about everything else.
It isn't the right position if every problem is somebody else's fault.
It isn't the right position if you cut corners when nobody is watching.
And it definitely isn't the right position if you want the authority of being a crew leader without accepting the responsibility that comes with it.

Colony Insulation is a Michigan insulation and building-performance company.
We work with spray foam, fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, attic systems, crawlspaces, air sealing, moisture management, and other building-performance work.
