Here’s a little snippet from one of our projects this week! Our crew has been installing natural Chilton stone edging, cobble rock, and re-installing a portion of the existing retaining wall to help bring this landscape back to life-and eliminate maintenance.

The best part? Watching the team take pride in every detail. At True North Landscape Group, we genuinely enjoy what we do; and it shows in the work and the people behind it.

We’re not done quite yet! Next week, we’ll be putting the finishing touches on the project, laying roughly 350 linear feet of low-voltage wire and installing new Kichler LED Wall & Pathway fixtures.

A Little Facelift on Lake Le Homme Dieu 🌊

We recently helped give one of our vacation rental properties on Lake Le Homme Dieu recieve a much-needed paver facelift.

This cozy lakeside retreat had some beautiful; and expensive - landscaping that didn’t need to be replaced. It just needed a little attention. Over time, tree roots and heaving had shifted the existing pavers and created some trouble around the landings.

Our team came in, raised and reset the last few landings, and gained another foot of space between the pavers and the tree roots to help give everything a little more room to move.

Just remove the tree you say? Good luck charlie!

We also created a new landing area for the dock steps, making the transition from the property down to the lake cleaner, safer, and more functional. 🌲🛶

The best part? We were in and out before True North Management's next set of guests arrived.

Projects like this are a good reminder that maintaining a vacation rental is about more than keeping things looking nice. Small issues with landscaping, drainage, pavers, trees, and outdoor spaces can quickly turn into bigger problems ($$) - especially when you have guests continuously using the property throughout the season.

Having a landscape team that understands the large (and timely) demands of vacation rentals allows us to address those issues quickly, protect the investment that’s already there, and keep the property 5-star ⭐️ guest-ready.

And sometimes, the best solution isn’t replacing everything.

It’s simply giving good landscaping the facelift it needs.

It’s not every day we get the opportunity to team up with our counterpart, True North Management, but when we do, it’s a great reminder of what can be accomplished when both teams work toward the same goal.

This downtown Alexandria property is getting ready to hit the market, and while True North Management is just about finished with the interior renovations, our team at True North Landscape Group was putting the finishing touches on the exterior.

Today’s project included:

🌿 3” rip rap rock installation

🌿 Fresh mulch beds around the home and existing trees

🌿 A 50-linear foot paver sidewalk connecting the refreshed granite gravel driveway to the home

🌿 Charcoal bullet edging for crisp & straight clean lines

🌿 Low-voltage wiring installed beneath the rock for future landscape lighting

🌿 Seasonal annual flowers beneath this massive front yard tree

Between both companies, we had six team members on-site today - four from the management division and two from the landscape division; seamlessly working together to prepare this property for its next chapter.

One of the biggest reasons we launched True North Landscape Group is because landscaping matters.

A nice little project🌱

Our team recently completed some final site stabilization for a beautiful new shop build along Highway 29 North of Alexandria.

As part of the project requirements, we installed:

✔️ Premium grass seed
✔️ Starter fertilizer
✔️ Straw erosion control blanket

The erosion blanket isn't just for appearance - it was required to meet MnDOT standards due to the property’s proximity to the highway, helping protect the site from erosion while giving the new turf the best opportunity to establish.

This project is nearing the finish line as the property prepares for closing, and we’re grateful to have been part of it.

A big thank you to Black Timber Buildings | BR Builders LLC for the opportunity to help put the finishing touches on another quality build. We appreciate the partnership and look forward to many more projects together!

There’s something special about bringing a vision to life on the shores of one of Minnesota’s beautiful lakes. 🌊

Earlier this month, we completed this berm and natural privacy fence on Lake Darling in Alexandria. Creating a secluded yard that still blends with its surroundings.

Later start for the crew today, but Adam Leedahl will tell you his edge is making up for it!

Our new clients were looking to create a natural privacy fence with Arborvitaes. We aren't quite wrapped yet, but we will make sure it ends with the "white glove treatment" they are looking for.

Arborvitaes make an incredible substitute for fencing and can often bypass common concerns homeowners face with
the traditional fence, such as city regulations or association bylaws. They are a hardy-tough tree, and when mature can form into a pretty beautiful hedge.

Excited for our new friends to see the finished product. I hear the fine tooth comb is coming out tomorrow.
