What Happens During a Final Walkthrough?
Your remodel looks finished, but before the project officially wraps up, thereโs one important step left: the final walkthrough.
During the final walkthrough, the homeowner and remodeling team go through the completed space together to review the work, identify any remaining items that need attention, and make sure the project is ready for closeout.
This may include checking:
- Cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, and finishes
- Doors, drawers, and hardware
- Faucets, plumbing fixtures, and appliances included in the project
- Lighting, switches, and outlets
- Paint, trim, caulking, and other finish details
- Any remaining touch-ups or punch-list items
- Questions about care, maintenance, warranties.
The walkthrough gives the homeowner and contractor an opportunity to identify those items together and establish what still needs to happen before the project is officially complete.
