We're sharing the news of Dave Williams' passing, and celebrating his legacy of grit, determination, and above all, love.
For many of our longer-standing clients, Dave was their go-to painter. A consistent force with a quick wit, total commitment to craftsmanship, and devotion to customers.
His past wasn't easy, marked with trauma and loss, but at 16 he turned a fresh chapter, enjoying a peace that came from his new-found faith and determination to write a better future. And at 19, over 47 years ago, he founded Williams Professional Painting. It became one of his greatest joys, passions, and sources of pride, second only to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Dave spent the last couple of decades on something else that was critically important to him: making sure the company he built could be handed to the next generation. His son Rick joined Williams Professional Painting in 2005, growing into a leadership role, and in more recent years Rick's son, Jake, is expanding his skills from the field to project coordination and estimation. Rick's brother, Tim, has joined the team as well, helping with systems and processes. Thanks to Dave's foresight and focus on building a sustainable legacy, the standards he set are the ones we hold, and the family name on the truck still belongs to the family answering the phone.
And, in true Dave fashion, even as he faced numerous health trials in his final years, he never wasted a moment. Before passing away after his long battle with Parkinson's Disease, he wrote two books, full of advice, help, wisdom, and faith-filled hope.
Dave will always be missed, but we look forward to carrying on exactly as he would want us to: with a quick wit (though not quite as quick as his), total commitment to craftsmanship, and devotion to customers.
Thank you for being part of his legacy, and we look forward to serving you long into the future.
