Going from timber frame and second floor deck to fully enclosed with walls and roof took 2 1/2 days. Next is air sealing panel seams with air sealing tape on both sides then windows and doors will be installed to create an air tight building shell which will be tested for leaks with a blower door test where a computer controlled fan is placed in a sealed opening and the amount of air leakage is confirmed at 20 pascals. Using this prefab system greatly increases the speed at which the building goes from being a foundation to an air tight shell. A shout out to Quality Renovation Service, Steve McKee and his team for the site build, to B.Public Prefab for the panels and to Carolina Timberworks for the timber frame.

Last weekend we were at the Falls Church Festival interacting with people answering their questions about architecture, their home additions and remodels. We had lots of great interactions with adults and kids alike. Turns out that kids favorite colors were blue and red with green comming in third and yellow dead last. Lots of kids could not wait to create things out of the legos we had.
