This building has stood since 1899🏛️

Our crew just wrapped a full restoration on 138 windows and 196 total shutters at Mary Washington Square in Fredericksburg — located in the City of Fredericksburg Historic District, which means every detail had to meet historic preservation standards on top of the lead-safe requirements that come with a pre-1978 building.

What that looked like on site:
🦺 Full PPE and containment around every work area
💧 Wet-sand prep only — zero mechanical sanding, to keep lead dust contained
âś… EPA Lead-Safe Certified crew, historic-district-compliant work

127 years of character, protected the right way.

We got the call because water was getting in around this bay window in Woodbridge, VA.đź’¦ Once our crew pulled the paneling back, the real story showed up: wood rot all around the windows that had worked its way into the structural framing.

We removed the compromised framing and sheathing, rebuilt it with new lumber, wrapped it in Tyvek, and added new flashing around the windows. From there we reinstalled the panels, finished with a fresh coat of paint to match, and sealed everything up tightđź’Ş

What starts as a small leak can quietly become a structural issue — and this one was worse than it looked from the outside.

152 balconies. Countless hours. One major upgrade for this community in Alexandria, VA🔨

What started as a safety concern turned into a full transformation. Years of moisture exposure had left wood framing, sheathing, and trim rotted and deteriorating, some of it hidden until we opened things up.

So we didn’t just patch the problem. We rebuilt it right.

👉Phase 1: Repaired all structural framing and sheathing, including full chimney replacements
👉Phase 2: Installed Azek PVC trim across every balcony and high-elevation area
👉Phase 3: Applied 2 finish coats, color-matched to the building’s existing look
👉Phase 4: Enjoy balconies built to last

Why PVC instead of wood? It won’t rot, crack, or attract pests, and it holds up to decades of sun, rain, and temperature swings with almost zero maintenance. Where wood needs constant upkeep, this stays solid for 40+ years.

Same great look homeowners love. None of the headaches that come with wood.

Curious what’s hiding under your trim? Let’s find out together.

We showed up ready. Ready to celebrate 50 years of WMCCAI, ready to connect, and yes, ready to throw some axes. 🪓

The weather wasn’t great, but the sun came out just in time for us. Sometimes that’s all you need. Great people, great reminder of why we do what we do for our communities.

Huge thank you to the WMCCAI team for hosting us at the Farm Brewery at Broad Run and putting on a great birthday party🎉

P.S. We may have a new contender for team’s best axe thrower. (Maybe lol.)

From rotted to rebuilt. From bare wood to semi-solid stain. This pergola at a condominium in Falls Church needed more than a quick fix — the wood was rotting and the structure was compromised.

Here’s what we did:
🔨 Rebuilt the entire structure from the ground up
🎨 Applied a fresh semi-solid stain for lasting protection
🪨 Installed custom framing to keep gravel contained within the pergola area

The only thing rotting should be the wood… not your patience. Click the link in our bio for a FREE estimate!
