July is the month to protect the investment you've made in your landscape.โจ
Here are a few July maintenance tips:
Water deeply and less often to encourage stronger root growth and better drought tolerance.
Slightly taller grass during this time helps shade the soil, retain moisture, reduce stress on the lawn, and improve root development.

Remove spent blooms to encourage the flowering plant to continue blooming. This results in more color and longer-lasting blooms.
Two to three inches of mulch helps keep roots cooler, reduce evaporation, minimize erosion from summer storms, and suppress unwanted growth.
Fire ants, grubs, and other insects are more active now. Early detection and treatment can prevent larger problems later in the season.
What was getting properly watered in the spring may now be blocked by foliage or growth. Check spray patterns, look for dry spots, and repair broken heads.
Look for premature leaf drop, wilting, and brown leaf edges. Mature trees may look healthy, but they can still experience heat stress.
