Another French drain installation done right from the ground up!
We started by prepping and protecting the work area before opening up the perimeter of the basement floor. From there, we carefully excavated along the edges of the foundation wall to create the drainage channel and expose the area where water is most likely to collect.
Next, we installed the perforated drainage pipe and surrounded it with clean drainage stone, creating a path for groundwater to move away from the foundation and toward the sump system. The drain was then tied into the sump pump, giving that collected water a controlled way out of the basement.
We also installed dimple board along the foundation wall to help direct wall seepage down into the drainage system instead of allowing it to make its way across the basement floor.
Once everything was in place and checked, we closed it all back up with fresh concrete, sealing the trench and restoring the floor.
From the first cut to the final pour, every step matters when you're protecting a home from water intrusion.
If you're dealing with a wet basement or recurring water issues, don't wait until the next heavy rain to find out how serious the problem is. Give us a call and letโs get to the bottom of it.
