There's a rhythm to renovation work that is easy to miss unless you're standing in it: the light through a bare window, original floors waiting to be brought back to life, a fireplace getting rebuilt from the inside out. This is what "in progress" looks like!

A space built for learning, creativity, and growth. 📚🤖

Hickory Construction partnered with Johnson Architecture to bring the expansion of Clayton Bradley Academy in Maryville, Tennessee to life. The project included multiple modular classroom buildings along with a two-story gymnasium, classroom, and administrative building, all completed on a tight project timeline.

The additions created eight classrooms, a gymnasium with seating for 500, a music room, art room, administrative space, and an educator training room—providing flexible, modern spaces designed around the needs of students and educators.

From the classrooms to the gymnasium, we're proud to have played a part in creating spaces where the next generation can learn, explore, and grow!

Alongside Legacy Parks Foundation, McCarty Holsaple McCarty Architects, and Allen Signs, we built a temporary installation for Park(ing) Day, a global movement reimagining curbside spots as public areas, one parking spot at a time.

We are proud to share that our installation took home the People's Choice Award! This piece will find a permanent home on the SoKno Rail Trail in South Knoxville!

As part of our full restoration of the historic Eugenia Williams House, we brought this entry hall back to architect John F. Staub's 1940s vision. ✨

Labor Day is a good reminder that the best work is learned! Our crew spent a morning with reps from Noble, Sika, Huber, ZIP System, and Benjamin Obdyke, sharpening the skills that go into every build.
Grateful for a team that shows up ready to learn!
