Albuquerque Please share this post with your Facebook friends and across all social media platforms.

Today, one of our traffic control crews was involved in a serious incident while working in a construction zone on Academy Road. An impatient driver entered the work zone while our Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) was picking up barricades. The driver had been instructed to move into the other lane, but instead struck our TCS with their vehicle’s side mirror.

Thankfully, he was only injured in the arm and is currently being evaluated at urgent care to ensure there are no fractures or serious injuries. This situation could have ended much worse.

What is especially concerning is that the driver did not stop to check on him and continued driving away from the scene.

We are asking for the public’s help in identifying this individual. If you witnessed this incident or have any information, please contact the Albuquerque Police Department at 242-COPS.

Please slow down and pay attention in work zones. The safety of roadway workers matters.

Thank you for your support and for helping us spread the word. Please make this person take responsibility for their actions!!
