Our Rose Rock Lakeside team was included in the first of many special dinner events to be experienced on the Rose Rock Patio at Monkey Island on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees.

“An Evening in White” was presented by Forge at Rose Rock Patio and featured a multi-course meal paired with special wines, live music, and a lot of fun getting to visit with friends and meet new people. The Monkey Island weather was fantastic. Keep your eyes open for the next event!

Some buildings carry a story long before you ever touch them. This one began its life in 2006 as a blood bank designed by DellaMonica and Snyder Architects—a distinctive structure defined by its double barrel-vaulted roof and iconic presence in the heart of Sonora, California. That exterior identity remains exactly as they created it; Archis Architects did not modify the exterior in any way.

The challenge was something different. How do you transform a space designed for one type of care into a place for an entirely different kind of healing? For the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center, Physical Therapy project, the answer came from listening to the building itself. The original design offered generous, volumetric spaces—meant to hold people, movement, and purpose. By allowing those volumes to reconnect with the human scale, we were able to preserve the spirit of the architecture while reshaping its function.

Inside, we introduced a layout that supports the rhythm of physical therapy with continuous sight lines for staff, intuitive flow for equipment and patients, and secure, efficient zones that meet the demands of modern medical practice.

The result is a space that feels open, light-filled, and restorative—a building that now supports healing in a new way without sacrificing the intent of its original design. A once open blood bank, now a place where movement, recovery, and wellness take center stage.

BC-04 is a 2-story beach cottage that is playful and eye-catching from every angle. At 2,283sf, it includes 3 bedroom on-suites, an expansive light-filled lower level gathering area with views through the house to the exterior, a large gathering island, large storm shelter, full-size laundry and pantry, and multiple porches and balconies for private moments and capturing views. At 3,080 sf, with 5 bedrooms, 5 baths and 1 half bath, all designed to capture lights, views and afford privacy, each space is unique and memorable. From the view through the living, kitchen and dining room, to the central stair and private balconies, this house is going to impress from the moment you step inside. BC-02, one of our larger home plans, at is a concept is designed around gathering and sleeping many people. The design includes three stories of living space, two porches, and three private balconies. The layout can conservatively sleep 15 and has 6 baths and one half bath to support that high capacity vacation living. Utilizing large windows, capturing beautiful light and breezes, while invoking beach life in its design, each home can be tailored to express the life lived while on vacation.

We only use quality materials and construction for our designs and that impacts the overall look and quality of each home.
Stone, smooth white stucco, woods and tasteful trims make this an elegant composition that is sure to please the family who chooses to call BC-02 home, if just for the long weekend!

Welcome to the Archis Architects team, Donavan Boone!

Donavan is a native New Mexican. He spent his younger years exploring the city, surrounding mountains, and mesas with friends. He’s tried his hand at many disciplines including retail, making headstones, manufacturing jewelry, a heavy equipment mechanic and of course a stint in the food industry.

Donavan eventually graduated TV-I and CNM with an associates degree in architecture and engineering drafting. He went on to work for two local architectural firms for the following 10 years before heading back to UNM for both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Architecture. Donavan has taught a design/build studio at UNM and was the assistant Director of ecoMOD in addition to running the Fabrication lab at the School of Architecture.

He enjoys aviation, video games with friends, classic cars and trucks, cooking with family, discovering great places to eat, woodworking, hunting, and camping. He is happiest when he hears his son laugh.
