β˜€οΈ Summer's here in Albuquerque β€” and your AC has been sitting unused for half a year.
Dust in the coils. Drifted refrigerant. Those small problems left over from last summer, still waiting. The first triple-digit week is exactly when neglected systems fail β€” and when emergency calls (and backordered parts) stack up.
An annual tune-up costs a fraction of an emergency repair and adds real years to your equipment. A proper visit isn't a five-minute glance: we check refrigerant charge, test the capacitor, clear the condensate drain, wash the condenser coil, tighten electrical connections, and calibrate the thermostat β€” each one targeting a specific failure mode before it reaches your compressor.
It also keeps your manufacturer warranty valid. Most major HVAC brands require documented yearly service, so skipping a year can put a future compressor failure on your tab.
We've been caring for Albuquerque HVAC systems since 1971. The window's still open β€” let's get you on the books.

Every refrigerated air system installed today must meet stricter efficiency standards than units from even five years ago. In the Southwest, the minimum is 14.3 SEER2 with additional peak-day performance requirements. The practical result is a new entry-level unit that uses meaningfully less electricity than a high-end unit from a decade ago. If your AC is past fifteen years old, the math has changed in your favor.

A proper annual tune-up is the single best thing you can do for your air conditioner. Refrigerant charge, capacitor health, coil cleaning, drain line, electrical connections. None of it is exotic, but skipping it is the number one cause of mid-July breakdowns. Catching small issues in June costs far less than chasing them in late summer.

If your swamp cooler is running but the air feels warm, the problem is almost always water-related. Dry pads, a tired pump, a clogged supply line, or hard-water buildup on the spider tubes can starve the unit. Take a look at the pads at startup. If they are stiff, white with mineral scale, or only wet at the top, they need attention before the next hot weekend.
