The Urban Earth Landscaping team returned to work in the La Chamisal del Norte community, continuing to transform an expansive neighborhood meadow into a thriving, sustainable landscape that supports native pollinators.

Through a thoughtful permaculture redesign, this shared outdoor space is becoming part of something much bigger. Supporting the Institute for Applied Ecology’s River for Pollinators initiative, the project will help restore vital habitat along the Rio Grande corridor by introducing a diverse mix of native wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs that provide essential food and shelter for butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.

This project is especially rewarding because our work extends far beyond the meadow itself. We're helping connect a neighborhood to a larger network of thriving habitats throughout New Mexico, creating a landscape that's as beneficial to our environment as it is beautiful to experience.

We're proud to be part of this meaningful transformation and look forward to sharing more progress as this special landscape takes shape!

Gravel is gravel, right? Not exactly.

Color, size, texture, borders, placement, and surrounding materials can dramatically change how decorative gravel looks within a landscape.

Combine it thoughtfully with plants, boulders, benches, or a water feature, and gravel becomes part of the design rather than simply something covering the dirt.
