Two doors. One space. Zero interference.

Not every garage door installation follows a standard setup, and this project is a perfect example of why.

These two garage doors share the same overhead space, but they don't follow the same path. By configuring the track systems at different heights, one door can travel above the other, allowing both doors to open fully without getting in each other's way.

The important part is making sure each door has the clearance it needs throughout its entire movement. That takes careful planning, proper track positioning, and an understanding of how the two systems will work together.

It's a great example of how the right installation approach can make a challenging space work without sacrificing functionality.

Same garage. Same opening. Completely different presence.

Replacing this older white garage door with a new black door did more than give the homeowner a fresh system. The darker finish adds definition to the opening, brings out the panel detail, and creates a much stronger contrast against the lighter exterior.

It’s a good example of why replacing a garage door doesn’t always require changing the style of the entire home to make a noticeable difference. Sometimes the right door and the right color are enough to completely change how the garage fits into the exterior.

Contrast is what gets your attention, but the doors themselves are what make this project stand out.

The black finish creates a strong break against the white building, while the clean panel design and vertical windows give the doors a modern look without adding too much. Even with two large openings, the matching doors keep the finished installation consistent from one bay to the next.

The dark trim and roofline help carry the contrast across the building, but these doors are doing most of the work. It’s a good example of how the right color, style, and window configuration can completely change what a garage door brings to a building.

This one took “off track” pretty seriously...

When a garage door comes completely out of its tracks like this, simply getting the door back into position isn’t enough. The rollers, tracks, cables, hardware, and overall operation need to be checked to determine what went wrong and make sure the door can safely operate again.

Garage door windows don’t always have to go where you expect them.

Traditionally, you’ll see windows running horizontally across the top of a garage door. For this installation, stacking them vertically along one side creates a completely different look and turns a functional feature into a major part of the door’s design.

Paired with the dark finish and clean panel style, the vertical glass adds just enough detail to break up the door without taking away from the modern look of the home.

Sometimes changing one familiar detail is all it takes to make a garage door feel completely different.

The openings were there. The possibilities were wide open!

This metal building started with two open bays, and adding the garage doors completely changed both the function and the finished look of the space.

With two different opening sizes, each door needed to fit its specific bay while still creating a consistent look across the front of the building. The matching panel design, window placement, and color tie everything together even though the doors themselves aren’t the same size.

It’s a great example of how the right garage doors don’t just fill an opening. They become part of what makes the building feel finished.

Somewhere between blending in and making a statement is a color that does a little bit of both.

Dark gray has become a great option for homeowners who want more contrast than a traditional white garage door, but don’t necessarily want the boldness of black. It still gives the door definition and brings out the detail in the raised panels while staying neutral enough to work with a wide range of exterior finishes.

When your garage doors take up this much visual space, choosing the right color can make just as much of a difference as choosing the right style.

Sometimes the middle ground really is the best place to be.

A new garage door should do more than look new. It should operate like new, too.

That smooth, balanced movement comes from much more than the door panels themselves. Spring tension needs to properly counterbalance the weight of the door, tracks need to be aligned, rollers need to move freely, and cables and hardware all need to work together as one system.

When those components are set up correctly, the door moves the way it was designed to and the opener isn’t left fighting against a poorly balanced system every time you use it.
