Our President, Marshall Thomas, represented Georgia's forest industry at the Ag Issues Summit in Perry, GA. He testified before the Senate and House Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committees on forecasting forest markets.

Marshall emphasized the importance of maintaining strong and reliable timber markets for Georgia's forest landowners. He encouraged legislators to continue supporting policies that protect and expand marketing opportunities for these landowners.

He also thanked legislators for passing HB 134, the Keep Georgia Forested Act, which created a $250 million tax credit to spur new investment in Georgia's forestry manufacturing.

Forestry is an integral part of agriculture, just on a longer timeline. We are excited to see forestry receive attention as Georgia prepares for the 2027 legislative session.🌲
