During the night of July 4, Cody Johnson, a laborer for our North Dakota Grading Department, noticed his neighbor’s truck was on fire. He immediately called 911, alerted his neighbors by knocking on their door, and grabbed a garden hose to help keep the fire from spreading.
Cody had the fire well contained until the fire department arrived. Even then, he stayed on scene after noticing a leak from the truck's gas to tank and helped ensure the situation remained under control.
For his quick thinking and decisive action, Cody received an Eagle Award at the Minot Area Chamber EDC August meeting. Thank you, Cody, for putting safety first – no matter what the situation!
