Shane Gillis just pulled off something no solo comedian has ever done.
The stand up comic sold 76,212 tickets for his show at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on July 17, officially earning the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a solo comedy show. The massive crowd broke the previous record and marked the biggest stand up performance in history.
The show took place in the home of the Philadelphia Eagles and featured a lineup of special guests, cementing what has already been one of the biggest comedy tours in recent memory. Earlier this year, Gillis also set the attendance record for a multi night comedy run at Boston’s TD Garden, proving his arena success is no fluke.
Love him or hate him, Shane Gillis is officially in the record books.
