Anyone can show up with a chainsaw and a ladder and start cutting on your trees.

At LS Tree Services, we do things differently. Safety comes first, and so does the health of your tree. We’re a team of arborists, and a big part of what we do is trying to save trees whenever we can.

But we also don’t sell snake oil.

If we truly don’t believe a tree can be saved, we’re going to tell you that. We’re not going to keep recommending treatments, trimming, or services just to make more money.

We believe in honesty, integrity, proper cuts, and doing the work at the right time for the tree.

Sometimes that means trimming less.
Sometimes it means waiting.
Sometimes it means removal is the safest option.

🌳 Why are we so serious about protecting wildlife in the trees we work on? 🐝🐦🐿️

We’re often asked why we won’t perform certain tree work when we find an active nest, bees, or other wildlife living in a tree—especially when they aren’t causing any harm to the tree.

The answer is simple: sometimes those little creatures are working harder than we are.

Most of the time, they’re only there for a short season. So when it’s safe to do so, we allow them to finish what they’re doing, raise their babies, pollinate, build their nests, and move along. The tree work can wait. We can always come back.

Any company can show up, cut a tree down, or hack away at a perfectly healthy tree and leave it struggling afterward.

But at LS Tree Services, we believe in working with Mother Nature—not against her. 🌿

That means making the right cuts to encourage healthy growth, preserving trees whenever possible, and treating the birds, bees, and little critters that call those trees home with respect.

🐷🌳 We had a little extra supervision on the job this week!

While working over at the zoo, our crew had a very dedicated potbelly pig keeping a close eye on things.

We’re still not sure who worked harder — our guys or her!

We’re incredibly thankful anytime we get the opportunity to help improve spaces throughout our community, especially the public spaces that so many families get to enjoy.

Around this time two years ago, Issac fell nearly 50 feet from a cottonwood tree after an equipment malfunction. One moment everything was fine, and the next, he was falling.

I got the call and somehow made it to him in just seven minutes—nearly five minutes before the ambulance arrived, even though I wasn’t the closest person to the job site. The paramedics were preparing to have him life-flighted. By all accounts, the outcome should have been very different.

It is only by the grace of God that he is still with us today.

Against all odds, he walked out of the hospital just six hours later.

A year later, I was doing an estimate for a homeowner when I learned she had been in the hospital room right next to ours that day. She told me that when she and the family she was with heard what had happened, they immediately began praying for my husband. It was one of those moments that reminded me how connected people can be, even complete strangers.

While this accident was devastating, we don’t believe it was meaningless.

It reminded us to slow down, to appreciate the life we’ve been given, and to never take another day for granted. It also serves as a powerful reminder to everyone in the tree care industry just how dangerous this work truly is.

Take the extra minute. Inspect your climbing system one more time. Check your ropes. Inspect your equipment. Never assume everything is fine just because it was yesterday. Complacency can cost a life.

We will never be ashamed to share this story. If telling it encourages even one arborist or tree worker to double-check their gear and it saves a life, then reliving one of the hardest days of our lives will have been worth it.

LS Tree Services is looking for a couple of reliable day workers for the next two weeks, with the potential to turn into a full-time position for the right individuals.

✅ Chainsaw experience is REQUIRED
✅ Any additional outdoor labor experience is a major plus (tree work, landscaping, construction, ranch work, etc.)
✅ Must be dependable and willing to work hard outdoors

Another successful canopy raise completed!

For this project, we raised the canopy to provide proper clearance for city trucks traveling through the alley. At the client’s request, we only trimmed the portion of the tree that was overhanging the alley, allowing them to maintain the natural look and character of the tree while still achieving the necessary clearance.

Pay is based on experience. We are looking for someone who can start tomorrow morning and is ready to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Experience with tree work, chainsaws, hauling brush, rigging, or general labor is preferred, but all experience levels will be considered.
