As our lowboy driver, Smiley plays a huge role in keeping Robert Collins moving forward, hauling our equipment from job to job and making sure the iron gets where it needs to be.

It’s a job that comes with a lot of responsibility, and we appreciate having someone we can count on behind the wheel day in and day out.

Our Clearing Division is back at it in the Midlands. 👊

We’ve teamed up with Integrated Site Works on the Charles Town Rd project in Leesville, SC, handling the clearing operation for roughly 3 miles of roadway that will eventually be paved.

Our scope starts with opening up the right of way from end to end. Cutting, clearing, stumping, piling and processing everything that stands in the way of the future road.

From there, all of the material is fed through the grinder and turned into usable wood chips. Instead of going to waste, those chips are loaded into our trucks and hauled to facilities throughout the Midlands where much of it will be used as biomass fuel.

It’s a full-circle operation. Clear the right of way, process the material on site, haul it out and keep the next phase of construction moving.

Happy Birthday Ray Delonge 🎉

Ray is one of the longest-serving members of the Robert Collins team and has been running one of our longtime projects for years. Around here, some call him the “King of the Landfill” and if you’ve ever seen him on a dozer, you probably understand why. He’s one of the best dozer men around and someone we’ve trusted to keep that job moving day in and day out.

Ray has lived a pretty interesting life outside of running equipment too. He’s a veteran, former paratrooper, still serves as a firefighter, and is also a Divemaster. When he’s not working, there’s a good chance he’s out somewhere chasing whitetail.

We’re lucky to have Ray on the team and appreciate everything he’s done for Robert Collins over the years.

‼️HIRING: CDL TRUCK DRIVER‼️

We’re hiring a CDL Truck Driver to join our Clearing Division. This position will haul logs and wood chips throughout the Midlands of South Carolina and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:
• Haul logs and wood chips between jobsites and facilities
• Operate a Mack P164 Daycab safely and efficiently
• Complete daily truck inspections
• Follow all DOT and company safety requirements

Requirements:
• Valid CDL
• Clean driving record
• Experience operating commercial trucks
• Must pass a DOT drug screening
• Dependable with a strong work ethic
• Willingness to travel throughout the Midlands and surrounding areas

Preferred:
• Experience hauling logs, wood chips, or similar materials
• Familiarity with local and regional routes

WELCOME TO THE CREW, JERRED FINDLEY! 👊

We’re proud to welcome Jerred as the newest member of the Robert Collins Clearing Division.

Jerred spent nearly a decade traveling the country as an ironworker before returning closer to his home state of Georgia and making the move into heavy equipment and land clearing.

Right away, Jerred showed that he knows how to put in work. He understands equipment, stays productive, recognizes what needs to be done, and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever the job calls for it.

That kind of work ethic and versatility is what our Clearing Division is built on, and Jerred has already proven he fits right in.

We’re glad to have him on board.

Another project is officially underway in Mount Pleasant, SC.

The first phase belongs to our Clearing Division, opening the site the right way before the next crew takes over.

Root raking. Grinding. Loading. Hauling. Every stump, log, and root is one step closer to preparing this site for the next phase of work.

👏 Huge shoutout to our Clearing Division crew. They’ve been putting in the work, operating safely, and keeping production moving. They’re expected to wrap up this week, and then our Site Work crew will have boots on the ground next week to keep the project rolling.

That’s what makes RCC successful. Different divisions, one team, all working toward the same goal.

🚨NOW HIRING: SITE WORK OPERATORS

Robert Collins Company is looking for several experienced and dependable Site Work Operators to join our team.

This is a full-time, hourly position working primarily on projects throughout the greater Charleston area and surrounding regions. Some travel may be required depending on project location.

Position Responsibilities:
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform rough and finish grading
• Excavate, load, move, spread, and place dirt and other materials
• Assist with pond construction and drainage installation
• Follow grade stakes, project plans, and direction from site supervision
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns

Position Requirements:
• Previous site work experience
• Knowledge of grading and earthmoving operations
• GPS machine-control experience is a plus, but not required
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and team mentality
