What a great night at the ASA Chicago Meet the GCs event!

Do you recognize these two cowboys?

This year's country-western theme gave us a chance to have a little fun, and we'd like to think we understood the assignment. 🤠

From cowboy hats and horseshoes to our "Trail to Your Next Opportunity Ahead" project handouts, the Lamp team was ready to round up some great conversations.

More importantly, the evening was filled with exactly what makes this event one of our favorites every year: connecting with subcontractors, industry partners, and fellow construction professionals from across the Chicagoland area.

The energy in the room was incredible, with hundreds of people gathering to talk about the work we all enjoy, build new relationships, and explore future opportunities.

A sincere thank you to ASA Chicago for the time, effort, and planning that goes into making Meet the GCs such a valuable event year after year. We always look forward to it, and this year was no exception.

Until next year, keep your boots on the ground and your projects moving forward. 🤠🚧

There's something special about this project.

The Manufacturing & Technology Center (MTC) was built by skilled tradespeople to help educate and inspire future skilled tradespeople.

In our latest blog, we reflect on Lamp's more than 50-year relationship with Elgin Community College, the projects that have supported the campus's growth over the decades, and our gratitude for the opportunity to be part of that journey.

The new MTC represents far more than a construction project. It's an investment in students, workforce development, and the future of our community.

Construction Appreciation Week 2026

As this week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate the people whose expertise, dedication, and hard work help bring community projects to life.

From skilled craftspeople and trade partners to project managers, superintendents, suppliers, and support teams, every successful project is built through collaboration.

It's been a busy year, and these photos represent only a portion of our work. Some of these projects have celebrated completed phases; some are complete or nearly complete; and while not every project has reached the construction phase yet, we're excited to see communities across the region investing in their future, and we look forward to sharing more as those projects progress.

Thank you to our team and everyone across the construction industry who helps build the schools, public safety facilities, parks, municipal buildings, and community spaces that serve our communities every day.

What a great afternoon at the inaugural IPPYS!

Lamp was honored to serve as an Award Ambassador Sponsor for this celebration of Illinois park and recreation professionals.

Congratulations to all nominees and award recipients.

Recognition programs like this only happen because people take the time to nominate and celebrate their peers, helping shine a light on the incredible work being done throughout our communities.

We loved the spirit of the event, recognizing everything from leadership and innovation to creativity, humor, and community impact.

At Lamp, we believe we don't just build buildings; we help build communities. That's why we were so happy to support an event that celebrates the professionals who help communities thrive every day.
