Ever wondered how plain concrete gets that textured, decorative look? 👀

Stamped concrete is created by pressing specialized patterns and textures into freshly placed concrete before it fully hardens. The concrete can be designed to resemble materials like brick, stone, slate, or tile—while still providing the strength of a concrete surface.

💡 Concrete Tip: Timing is key! The stamping process has to happen while the concrete is workable enough to accept the pattern, but firm enough to hold the detail.

Stamped concrete can be a great option for patios, walkways, pool decks, driveways, and other outdoor spaces where you want both function and a decorative finish.

From Demo to Finished Loading Dock — Sandy Springs Police Department

A2 took this project from the initial demolition all the way to the completed loading dock at the Sandy Springs Police Department.

A loading dock may look simple once it’s finished, but there’s a lot of work that happens behind the scenes. Each phase—from the foundation and drainage to underground utilities, slabs, and paving—plays an important role in the finished project.

80 YARDS OF CONCRETE!

That’s a serious pour! Concrete walls require careful coordination between the A2 crew, concrete pump partners, and ready-mix deliveries to keep everything moving smoothly.

For this project, A2 worked alongside our concrete pump partners, with Wayne Davis Concrete supplying the concrete for the pour.

80 yards = approximately 2,160 cubic feet of concrete! That’s a lot of concrete going into these walls.

Concrete Tip Tuesday: Tilt-Up Edition

Did you know? Tilt-up panels are poured flat on the ground and then lifted into place?

Instead of building walls vertically, concrete panels are cast horizontally on a prepared slab. Once the concrete has cured and reached the required strength, a crane lifts each panel into its final position.

Why it matters: This process can help speed up construction while creating strong, durable exterior walls.
