With the record heat our landscapes are struggling and combine that with no rain in the forecast until late next week its time to make adjustments. Here are a few tips to care for your landscape.

1. Water early in the morning! This has multiple benefits.
It supplies your lawn and plants with a stash of water to get through the day’s heat.
Water has a chance to soak into roots instead of being evaporated by the heat if you water during the day.
After a night time soak, leaves can stay wet for a pretty long time since they don’t have the day’s sun to dry them off. Because of this, damp leaves become extra vulnerable to fungal development.

2. Freshen up your mulch to at least 2-3 inches.

3. Cut your grass higher as it creates less stress and a lower dependency on water

4. Break up the surface if possible to allow the water to pe*****te into the soil.
