Quick homeowner tip: don’t forget about your shower head 🚿
When we think about home maintenance, we usually think about the bigger things such as water heaters, HVAC systems, toilets, drains, filters, and all the projects that end up on the weekend to-do list.
But one small thing that often gets overlooked is the shower head.
Over time, shower heads can collect mineral buildup, sediment, hard water deposits, and clogged nozzles. When that happens, you may start to notice weaker water pressure, uneven spray, or water shooting off in random directions.
A few signs it might be time to clean or replace yours:
-Weak or uneven spray
-White or crusty buildup around the nozzles
-Water spraying sideways
-Pressure does not feel like it used to
-You have cleaned it before, but the issue keeps coming back
-It has been several years since it was replaced
Before replacing it, try this simple fix first: remove the shower head, soak it in white vinegar, scrub the nozzles, rinse it well, and reinstall it.
If it is still clogged, corroded, leaking, or not flowing well after that, it may be time for a new one.
The good news? This is usually a quick and affordable upgrade that can make your shower feel noticeably better and better yet, no major project required.
Small home maintenance items like this are easy to forget, but they can make a big difference in your everyday routine.
