Important Weather & Mowing Update

We want to give everyone an update regarding our mowing schedule and current lawn conditions.

Over the past several weeks, our area has experienced an exceptionally wet stretch of weather. Since July 1, the Aberdeen area has received approximately 13.27 inches of rain. Normally, we would expect roughly 7.9 inches by this point, putting us around 69% above normal rainfall.

August has been especially difficult. We have already received approximately 7.76 inches of rain in just the first 17 days of the month.

After nearly four straight weeks of frequent rain, high humidity, saturated ground, and extremely fast grass growth, the conditions are beginning to take a serious toll on both our equipment and our crews.

Many lawns are staying saturated for days at a time. This makes mowing significantly slower, causes grass to clump, increases wear and tear on our equipment, and makes it much harder for our crews to maintain their normal pace.

Because of these conditions, customers should continue to expect delays from their normal mowing day. We are working through the schedule as quickly as weather and ground conditions safely allow.

We also want to be upfront about cut quality during these conditions. Wet, thick grass does not cut or discharge the same way as dry grass. It can lay over, clump, stick to equipment, and occasionally leave areas looking more uneven than we would normally accept.

Our crews are doing everything they can to leave each property looking as good as possible, but with the amount of rain we have received, some lawns simply cannot be cut to our normal standard until conditions improve.

Our team has been pushing hard for weeks to keep more than 125 properties serviced despite the weather. We greatly appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while we work through one of the wettest stretches we have dealt with in quite some time.

Weather Delay & Storm Debris Notice

Due to the storms over the weekend and additional rain expected throughout the week, customers should expect possible mowing delays caused by wet conditions, road closures, and storm debris.

With more than 100 properties on our mowing schedule and rain expected nearly every day, our crews may need to mow in wetter conditions than we normally prefer. We do not like mowing when lawns are wet, but we also cannot allow properties to become excessively overgrown while waiting for completely dry weather. Our crews will use their best judgment at each property and will avoid mowing any areas that are too wet or could be damaged.

Please make sure your yard is cleared of larger sticks, branches, and storm debris before your scheduled service. Small twigs and leaves are not a problem. If a tree has fallen, our crew will simply mow around it.

However, if our crew has to spend a significant amount of time moving or cleaning up large branches and debris before mowing, an additional cleanup charge may be added for the extra labor.

Happy 4th of July

Today our team is enjoying a well-deserved day off while celebrating the freedoms that make this country so special. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to wake up each day, do what we love, serve our community, and continue growing Turf Ninjas LLC.

At Turf Ninjas, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Regardless of political beliefs, race, religion, color, creed, or sexual orientation, you deserve the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else. We know not everyone will agree on every issue, and that's okay; that's one of the freedoms we celebrate today.

We don't fly the American flag for political reasons. We fly it because it represents opportunity, hope for a better tomorrow, and the freedoms that make this country unique. It stands for the right to vote, to speak your mind, to practice your beliefs, and to work toward positive change in your community and our nation. Freedom isn't about everyone thinking the same, it's about everyone having the right to make their own choices while respecting the rights and freedoms of others.

As President Abraham Lincoln reminded us, "A house divided against itself cannot stand" and In Matthew 12:25, Jesus states, "Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand". While we may not always agree, our nation is strongest when we remember that we are all Americans first, united by the freedoms we share and the hope for a better tomorrow.

With high temperatures and occasional dry weather, it's normal for your lawn to slow its growth or develop brown spots during the hottest weeks of summer.

Don't worry. This is often your lawn's natural way of protecting itself from drought and heat stress.

Our crews will continue mowing at a slightly higher height to:

Please remember that w**d control is a process, and some w**ds may require multiple treatments for the best results.

💳 Friendly Payment Reminder
Thank you to everyone who keeps their account current!

If your invoice becomes more than 15 days past due, your property may be temporarily removed from the mowing schedule until your balance is paid.

If your service is paused due to non-payment and your lawn becomes significantly overgrown, an overgrowth fee may be required before your property can be returned to its normal maintenance schedule.

🤝 Communication Goes a Long Way
We understand that life happens. If you know you're going to be late on a payment or need additional time, please contact us before your bill becomes overdue.

We're happy to work with customers who communicate with us and, when appropriate, can arrange payment plans or waive late fees.

Our goal is to work with our customers, not against them.

☀️ Working Through the Heat
For the safety of our employees, our crews may occasionally begin routes earlier or adjust schedules during periods of extreme heat.

On exceptionally hot days, we may also take additional water breaks and adjust our pace to ensure everyone stays safe while continuing to provide the quality service you expect.

Now Hiring – Lawn Care & Small Landscape Projects

Turf Ninjas LLC is looking to add another team member for the season.

We’re looking for someone who can work 20–40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime when we have enough work available.

Main schedule would be:

Monday & Tuesday: Small landscape projects
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: Mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing off properties
Optional Saturdays: Extra hours may be available for project work when needed

Starting pay is $18/hour, with room to grow based on reliability, work ethic, and efficiency.

We’re looking for someone who:

Shows up on time
Has a valid driver’s license
Has reliable transportation to and from our shop/job meet-up location
Can work outside in different weather conditions
Takes pride in doing clean, detailed work
Can follow directions and work well with a crew
Has lawn care or landscaping experience preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person
