Never blame anyone for your failure ,
Today, I passed by at City oil, there is a simple mini supermarket, I just needed to buy tissue. I found 2 smartly dressed and beautiful Somali girls on the entrance of the supermarket. They all welcomed me with a smile and greeted me with humor. " You are most welcome ma'am, plz come in and make ur choice. " One said to me.
They all escorted me to the shelves and picked what I wanted.
On my way out, it had started raining, one girl out of customer care picked an umbrella, which I never even expected, covered me up-to the parking yard as she kept convincing me to keep buying from their shop.
You could see this beautiful, determined girl willing to do business and retain this potential customer much as I had only spent 5000/ in their shop. I just thanked her and went away.
But THAT'S NOT MY POINT.
on my way home, I found this Ugandan woman selling Matooke, I stopped by and wanted to buy one for my family.
Asked, "Madam amatooke gameeka? " (how much is a bunch of bananas)
While she was looking the other opposite side, she even didn't turn to look at me, she just replied, "emitwaalo ebiiri" (twenty thousand).
I said, madam oba kankuwe omutwaalo! (I have ten thousand)
She turned as if I had abused her and told me, " olowooza amatooke ngaajja mulusuku lwa Jaajja woo? " (do you think I get the bananas from your grand father's garden).
I just went away and looked for it somewhere else, and also there the story wasnt so different, the attention was the same maybe for her, she was abit polite.
But I finally bought at 20k and carried them myself into the vehicle.
But still thats not my point.
My point is, the ones I supported with 5k, took me as a king and I meant heaven to them while the ones I did with 20k, took me as a no one and I meant nothing to them.
This is just one example in Uganda representing millions of worse senerios.
This is how poor natives run poorer. They start small businesses and fail and all they consider taking is more litres of anointing oil and blessed water from their pastors. While they chase away money every single day.
These foreigners come with nothing and become our bosses of our so called graduates.
You will not hear many testimonies of Ugandans who started something and sustained to an international level. All we do, is to believe that the brown are superior
I swear, you enter into an Indian shop, and an Indian gives u his chair and you sit like a Queen while you bargain, whereas u enter in some Ugandan shops, u meet a woman painting her lips as she is covered with multicolored manufactured hair, and see her looking with one eye under the hair nga mbeega and asks you without any kind of care, What do u want?
That's not good,
Its like we so comfortable with poverty yet people are dieing in lack while we have the largest portion of resources. Millions go to school and study but still with such character they learned from their parents hinder their development.
There's isnt any indian graduate who anticipate poverty or riches from government. They know what to do from childhood.
Where as here, it's fighting, quarreling, romours, and hatred.
Let's embrace development and seek for knowledge on how things are done in business
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNT
Success belongs to those who wake up every morning and pursue their dreams regardless of the hardships.oba etonye oba nedda
Success is for those who have made up their mind not to give up, not to give in and not to throw in the towel.
It is for those who have said "It is not going to be over until I win", success is for those who don't suffer from "what will people say syndrome".
Success is for you, never underestimate the ability and the potential that has been invested in you. You've got Greatness within you and you deserve to be successful.
It's a new day, make it count.
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING
