33 kg of potatoes per square meter.
I hope that this time we managed to surprise you with our potato harvest?

The result shocked me and that's no exaggeration.
It’s hard for me to describe the feeling when the result exceeds all, even your wildest expectations.
At the time this video was filmed, we (my wife and I) were breathless and felt as though our hearts were about to burst out of our chests.
We couldn't have imagined that we would harvest 33 kg of potatoes from this garden bed, which occupies an area of just one square meter.
In our previous potato beds made of polymer mesh, the harvest was significantly poorer.
I really hope no one writes in the comments that I pre-loaded the garden bed with store-bought potatoes, or claims it’s AI.
Friends, I wish you good harvests that always exceed your expectations and good health!

I planted garlic for the greens.
We had a few round garden beds open up, so I decided to plant garlic for the greens.
We’ll have fresh young garlic in November—we love it.
Friends, I know you usually plant garlic by the clove, but I plant whole bulbs—and this is the third time I’ve done it.
Every time, a large cluster grows from a single bulb—exactly what I need.
I’m not insisting that you need to plant garlic this way too, but if you love young garlic, I recommend trying this method.

This will be interesting, I think so.
Friends, seven days ago I decided to check what kind of potato harvest awaits us from one of our vegetable beds.
I noticed that large bumps had appeared in the potato bed, I checked one of them and I was stunned.
Well, I thought this was an exception, so I decided to check the rest of the potato patch.
Now I'm in two minds: either this will be one of the best harvests ever, or I'm just imagining things again...

September cucumbers.
There aren't as many cucumbers anymore, but the harvest is still good for September.
It's gotten much colder here, and the cucumbers are growing much more slowly.
And how delicious they are at the end of the season :)

Very poor harvest.
This is our fifth potato bed made of polymer mesh from which we have harvested this season.
I'll tell you honestly, the harvest was disappointing; the previous beds were more productive.
But don't be upset (or happy), this season I will be able to surprise you with a more productive potato harvest.
After seven years of observation, practice, and mistakes, I found a solution to achieving a good potato harvest.
It took me a long time, but better late than never.
I will voice my version in one of the next videos, when we harvest the last potato crop of this season.
I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I'm speaking only from my own experience.

I take my words back.
Friends, this year in the descriptions of many of my videos, all I did was complain about the cold spring, the too hot summer, that everything was growing poorly, and so on.
As autumn has shown, the harvest was excellent and I am simply a big panicker.
In the future, if I complain, just ignore it :)

I didn't expect this this year.
I didn't expect at all that there would be such a generous tomato harvest this year.
We've already harvested 200 kg, and that's not even half of it.
We've even run out of all the large jars for preserving tomatoes for the winter.
My wife has already made 52 liters of pickled tomatoes with carrot tops; in previous years, we made half that amount, and we never had enough.
It's too early to preserve lecho, adjika, and borscht dressing, as the bell peppers haven't ripened yet, so half the harvest was given to neighbors and friends.

If you're interested in our favorite recipe for pickled tomatoes with carrot tops, here's the detailed recipe:
Ingredients for a 3-liter jar (or proportionally for other sizes):
Tomatoes — as many as the jar will hold (approximately 1.5–2 kg).
Carrot tops — 3–5 sprigs.
Garlic — 2–3 cloves.
Black peppercorns — 5 pcs.
Bay leaves — 1–2 pcs.

Marinade (per 1 liter of water):
Salt — 2 tablespoons (level).
Sugar — 5–6 tablespoons.
Vinegar (9%) — 3 tablespoons.

Step-by-step instructions:
Preparing the jars and herbs: Thoroughly wash and sterilize the jars and lids. Rinse the carrot tops thoroughly in cold water and pat dry.
Layering the ingredients: Place the bay leaf, black pepper, and peeled garlic in the bottom of a clean jar. Add some carrot tops. Pack the prepared tomatoes tightly, layering them with the remaining tops.
First filling: Pour boiling water over the packed tomatoes to the very top. Cover the jars with lids and let them warm for 15 minutes.
Preparing the marinade: Drain the water from the jars back into the pan (it's convenient to use a lid with holes). Add the salt and sugar according to the recipe for 1 liter of water, bring to a boil, and simmer for a couple of minutes until the crystals completely dissolve. Finally, pour in 9% vinegar and remove from heat.
Sealing: Pour the boiling marinade over the tomatoes in the jars, immediately seal them tightly or screw on the lids. Turn the jars upside down, wrap them in a warm blanket or towel, and let them cool completely.

What is your opinion?
Judging by the comments on some of my videos, many people think that if a tomato is smaller than a football, it means the person doesn't know how to grow tomatoes.
But they completely fail to take into account that there are several hundred different varieties of tomatoes and they do not all grow huge.
For example, these small cherry tomatoes are very tasty in salads, and marinated with onions for the winter, they are absolutely delicious.
In my opinion, judging the tomato harvest by its size is not at all correct.

A good harvest of eggplants.
This year I planted 24 eggplant bushes (I grew the seedlings myself, from seeds bought in the store).
Last year, I bought all the eggplant seedlings and planted 35 bushes.
At this point, we have already collected just over ten buckets of harvest, which exceeds last year's harvest, and with the eggplant season just in full swing, this result could be twice as large.
I'm coming to the conclusion that the harvest from seedlings grown at home will be much better than from purchased ones, but perhaps I'm wrong and everything depends on many factors.
What is your opinion on this matter?
