Salary/Rate: $30+ per hour (Depending on experience and shift)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator/Sander to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining industrial sanding machinery, as well as using hand tools to finish wood surfaces. The ideal candidate will ensure that products meet high-quality standards and that the work area is maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Set up and run sanding machines (drum, belt, orbital) and other machinery to smooth surfaces to exact specifications.
Quality Control: Inspect parts for defects, measure finished products for conformity, and remove damaged goods.
Finishing: Use hand tools and power tools (e.g., jitterbug sander) to sand, grind, and polish surfaces for painting, staining, or sealing.
Maintenance: Clean, oil, and grease machinery regularly; perform routine checks and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA, safety procedures, and PPE requirements, including using dust extraction systems.
Documentation: Record production data, material usage, and quality logs.
