A pool pump acts as the heart of the circulation system, continuously pulling water from the pool, driving it through the filter to remove debris, and returning clean, sanitized water. It prevents stagnation, ensures even distribution of chemicals (like chlorine), and is essential for maintaining clear, safe, and algae-free water.

Key Purposes and Functions:

Circulation: Keeps water moving to prevent stagnation, which can lead to algae growth and bacteria buildup.

Filtration: Forces water through the filter system to remove dirt, debris, and contaminants.

Chemical Distribution: Ensures that chemicals like chlorine and pH adjusters are evenly distributed throughout the pool.

Equipment Operation: Enables other equipment to function, such as heaters, cleaners, and skimmers.

Preventing Algae: Constant water movement and filtration inhibit algae from taking root.
