Job Vacancy : Site HSSE Officer

Roles and responsibilities:

1) Ensure safe systems of work are followed.
2) Ensure toolbox and JSA’s are completed daily.
3) Ensure employee use the appropriate ppe per tasks.
4) Liaise with client on all HSE related issues.
5) Liaise with HSE Manager with site related HSE issues.
6) Ensure that employees, contractors, and site visitors conduct operations in accordance with the company’s Occupational Safety and Health Program.
7) Keep track of the site statistics and report to HSE Manager on a monthly basis.
8) Advise, assist and ensure compliance on appropriate selection and wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) of all workers.
9) Comply with Patrick Gordon’s procedures concerning the reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery of waste.
10) To report all accidents and incidents to his/her supervisor and to comply with procedures outlined in the Accident/Incident Reporting Policy.

Requirements:

1) Five (5) years experience
2) Valid First Aid and Fire Certification
3) NEBOSH Certification/equivalent
4) Must have a phone with an active data plan
5)Must live in Chaguanas or environs

Job Vacancy : Office Assistant - Tenders and Project Administration

Roles and Responsibilities

1) Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, data entry, copying, binding, scanning, answering phone calls, schedules meetings and guides visitors, etc.

2) Pay utilities, maintain and track expenses using Excel.

3) Peachtree: invoice preparation, entry of payments, entry of funds and preparation reports.

4) Contract procurement [NIPDEC, NIDCO]: tender preparation, quotations & pre-qualifications

5) Project administration and project tracking: Tracking project performance, project costing [excel] , manage creditor accounts, ensuring all suppliers, employees and subcontractors are paid), authorized payments and reimbursements (employees and subcontractors), procurement of materials for projects and track overdue payments

Requirements and skills

1) Three (3) years experience in the Construction Industry

2) Associates degree in Business Management of equivalent

3) Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Projects and MS PowerPoint, in particular)

4) Proficiency in MS Excel Functions (VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, IF, AND, XLOOKUP, COUNTA, COUNT, SUM, AVERAGE, CONCATENATE, SUBTOTAL, TODAY, DATEDIF, SUMIF, ETC)

5) Proficiency in Abode Acrobat (converting pdf to word, edit pdf, add header and footers on pdf, combine pdfs and sign pdf in particular)

6) Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

7) Knowledge of Peachtree

8. Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

9) Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines

B1/70 Paria Main Road Bridge, Blanchisseuse

The bridge structure is a single span beam and slab structure with AASHTO Type III Precast Pre-stressed Concrete Beams 24-26m long. The concrete abutments are founded on deep spread footings with straight back wing walls. The deck elevations above sea level on the western and eastern end of the bridge are 28.17m and 27.97m respectively.

In cross-section, the proposed road width over the new bridge is 7.30 m wide with a 0.3m slipper drain and a 1.5m wide sidewalk on both sides. Reinforced parapet walls are included at the sides of the sidewalk to provide protection for pedestrians. The total cross section width of the new bridge will be 11.60m. There will be a 3.0m run on slab on both approaches with 90-degree long wing walls on all four sides of varying lengths from 8.0m to 12.0m.

The works also included road works for approximately 40m on the western approach and 40m on the eastern approach. River paving works will extend approximately 20.0m on either side of the bridge with Gabion baskets to be provided as river bank protection on all four sides of the paving works.

To construct 152 footpath 100m x 1.1m over an existing box drain with 52m 1.2m footpath long roadway. Along 152m of the roadway a slipper drain was constructed

Drainage and Irrigation Works

Ottley Open Channel Drain

Constructed an open channel box drain 40m long with base 2.4m wide x 1.2m height which widen further 2m at the top at height of .6m. Connections were placed along the newly constructed drain walls to connect the existing 3 drains to the opening channel.

B1/1 Maracas Royal Road Bridge Reconstruction

The Highways Division of the Ministry of Works conducted assessment exercises during the period 2010-2011. It was noted that the St Joseph Bridge was in a very dilapidated state. Its steel components and connections were heavily corroded to the extent that daylight could be observed shining through the members. The structure also vibrates excessively during the passage of heavy loads. In short the bridge has reached the end of its service life and to this end the Ministry has initiated reconstruction works. Work consisted of replacing the existing deck with a deck plank system, replacing the sidewalk deck slabs, repairing and replacing any cross beams, any necessary repairs to substructure and truss structure, river cleaning, necessary cross drainage works and river paving works. A small retaining wall will also be constructed in the river for bank protection and river training. A rehabilitated truss bridge now extends 36m in length over the St Joseph River. The original bridge structure had a wooden (mora plank) surface
