TAVAK Türkiye Avrupa Eğitim Ve Bilimsel Araştırmalar Vakfı The Turkish-European Foundation for Education and Scientific Studies conducts research on social issues pertaining to Turkish-European relations.

The Turkish-European Foundation for Education and Scientific Studies (TAVAK) was founded in 2008 with the goal to further and conduct the economic, social, cultural and academic exchange between Turkey and Germany. One of the organisation's key projects is the foundation of the 'European University', a German-speaking university aiming to close a gap on the Turkish educational landscape. The university is due to open its doors in October 2015. In the context of the university-foundation, TAVAK has expanded its range of partners to include universities in Zurich, Vienna and Maastricht and has accordingly switched to its current name which reflects its coorporation with additional European countries other than Germany. The foundation of such a university can be both an important engine for the deepening of existing cultural and economic ties and provide impulses for new cooperation between Turkey and Europe. Additional ongoing projects other than the university project pursue a similar goal.
