จากอาคารสำนักงานโรงงานผลิตรถปั้นจั่น สู่ร้านอาหารเช้า ที่อยากให้ทุกคนมาทาน (เป็น) ประจำ
ร้านอาหารเช้า "ทานประจำ"
สุพรรณบุรี, ประเทศไทย
โจทย์ของเราคือการรีโนเวทตึกแถว 2 คูหาในสุพรรณบุรี จากอาคารสำนักงานโรงงานผลิตรถปั้นจั่น ให้กลายเป็นร้านอาหารเช้า โดยมีข้อจำกัดในเรื่องของงบประมาณ หากแต่กลับมีวัตถุดิบที่เราสามารถนำมาหยิบใช้ได้อย่างมากมาย คือเศษวัสดุเหลือใช้จากโรงงานที่ตั้งอยู่ด้านหลัง
สิ่งที่เราให้ความสำคัญที่สุดไม่ใช่การสร้างแบรนด์ใหม่ขึ้นมาอย่างเดียว แต่คือการทำความเข้าใจบริบท (Context) ของพื้นที่เดิมที่มีโรงงานขนาดใหญู่ยู่ด้านหลัง เราจึงเลือกที่จะคง “จิตวิญญาณ” ของอุตสาหกรรมเหล็กเอาไว้ แล้วนำมาตีความใหม่ให้ดูเข้าถึงง่าย อบอุ่น และเหมาะกับการนั่งทานมื้อเช้าอย่างมีความสุข เหมือนกับการปรุงวัตถุดิบดั้งเดิมให้ได้รสชาติใหม่ ๆ
ความพิเศษของโปรเจกต์นี้คือการหยิบเอา "DNA" ของโรงงานด้านหลังมาใช้ในงานออกแบบอย่างเต็มที่ เรานิยามงานออกแบบครั้งนี้ว่าเป็นการ “คราฟท์ (Craft)” วัสดุอุตสาหกรรม เราเลือกที่จะ ‘ขุด’ เข้าไปในคลังวัตถุดิบของโรงงาน ทั้งแผ่นเหล็กเหลือใช้ เศษอะไหล่ และตะแกรงเหล็กฉีก แล้วนำมาผ่านกระบวนการ Design & Craft ใหม่ทั้งหมด ให้กลายเป็นเฟอร์นิเจอร์ และองค์ประกอบการตกแต่งที่ไม่ซ้ำใครและมีตัวตนที่ชัดเจน
“ทานประจำ” จึงเป็นหนึ่งในงานทดลองของทีม PLAH ที่เราตั้งใจนำเสนอวิธีการออกแบบใหม่ ๆ ให้กับจังหวัดสุพรรณบุรี และหวังว่าร้านอาหารเช้าแห่งนี้จะเป็นพื้นที่ต้อนรับทุกคนให้มาทานกันได้เป็นประจำในทุก ๆ วัน
"Tharnprajaam" (Breakfast restaurant)

Our challenge was to renovate a two-unit shophouse in Suphan Buri from a mobile crane factory office into a welcoming breakfast joint. While working under a tight budget, we discovered an absolute goldmine of materials right in our backyard: leftover scraps from the factory operating just behind the building.
Our primary focus wasn’t just about creating a new brand from scratch, but rather understanding the context of the existing site and its relationship with the massive factory behind it. Therefore, we chose to preserve the "soul" of the steel industry and reinterpret it into something approachable, warm, and perfectly suited for a delightful morning meal—much like transforming traditional ingredients into an exciting new flavor.
The highlight of this project lies in fully weaving the factory’s "DNA" into the design. We define this approach as "crafting industrial materials." We decided to "mine" the factory’s inventory, rescuing leftover steel plates, spare parts, and expanded metal meshes. These were then put through a complete design and crafting process, transforming raw industrial waste into unique, character-filled furniture and decorative elements.
"Tarn Pracham" stands as an experimental project by the PLAH team. We intended to introduce a fresh design perspective to Suphan Buri, and we hope this breakfast spot will become a welcoming space where everyone drops by to eat every single day.
