VCON becomes accredited member of UNCCD
VCON Becomes Thailand's First and Only UNCCD-Accredited Precast Concrete Manufacturer Partner
VCON is proud to announce its accreditation as a partner of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), reinforcing our commitment to sustainable development and responsible environmental stewardship. With this recognition, VCON becomes the first and currently the only UNCCD-accredited precast concrete manufacturer partner in Thailand, marking a significant milestone for the country's construction industry.
Established in 1994, the UNCCD is the only legally binding international agreement dedicated to addressing desertification, land degradation, and the impacts of drought. The Convention brings together governments, businesses, research institutions, and civil society to advance sustainable land management and foster resilient communities.
As a leading manufacturer of hollow core precast concrete systems, VCON believes innovation in construction can play an important role in supporting these objectives. Compared with conventional cast-in-place concrete construction, VCON's hollow core system reduces concrete consumption by more than 40%, significantly lowering the demand for raw materials. In addition, the system eliminates the need for temporary timber formwork and shoring during slab installation, reducing wood consumption, construction waste, and on-site environmental impacts.
By improving material efficiency and minimizing resource use, VCON's precast technology supports the UNCCD's mission to promote sustainable land management, conserve natural resources, and build resilient communities. VCON ก้าวสู่การเป็นพันธมิตรผู้ผลิตคอนกรีตสำเร็จรูป (Precast Concrete Manufacturer Partner) รายแรกและรายเดียวของประเทศไทยที่ได้รับการรับรองจาก UNCCD
VCON มีความภาคภูมิใจเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ได้รับการรับรองให้เป็นพันธมิตรของ อนุสัญญาสหประชาชาติว่าด้วยการต่อต้านการแปรสภาพเป็นทะเลทราย (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification: UNCCD) ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของบริษัทในการดำเนินธุรกิจอย่างยั่งยืนและการดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างมีความรับผิดชอบ การได้รับการรับรองในครั้งนี้ทำให้ VCON เป็นผู้ผลิตคอนกรีตสำเร็จรูปรายแรกและปัจจุบันเป็นรายเดียวของประเทศไทยที่ได้รับการรับรองเป็นพันธมิตรของ UNCCD นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวสำคัญของอุตสาหกรรมก่อสร้างไทยบนเวทีระดับโลก
UNCCD ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2537 และเป็นอนุสัญญาระหว่างประเทศที่มีผลผูกพันทางกฎหมายเพียงฉบับเดียวของโลกที่มุ่งแก้ไขปัญหาการแปรสภาพเป็นทะเลทราย ความเสื่อมโทรมของที่ดิน และผลกระทบจากภัยแล้ง โดยทำงานร่วมกับภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน สถาบันการศึกษา และภาคประชาสังคม เพื่อส่งเสริมการจัดการทรัพยากรที่ดินอย่างยั่งยืนและสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้กับชุมชนทั่วโลก
ในฐานะผู้นำด้านระบบโครงสร้างคอนกรีตสำเร็จรูปแบบแผ่นพื้นกลวง (Hollow Core Precast Concrete System) VCON เชื่อว่านวัตกรรมด้านการก่อสร้างสามารถมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสนับสนุนเป้าหมายดังกล่าว เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับการก่อสร้างคอนกรีตหล่อในที่แบบดั้งเดิม ระบบ Hollow Core ของ VCON สามารถ ลดการใช้คอนกรีตได้มากกว่า 40% ช่วยลดการใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและการปล่อยคาร์บอนจากการผลิตวัสดุก่อสร้าง อีกทั้งยัง ไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ไม้แบบหรือค้ำยันชั่วคราว ในการติดตั้งแผ่นพื้น ซึ่งช่วยลดการใช้ไม้ ลดของเสียจากการก่อสร้าง และลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมในหน้างาน
ด้วยการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการใช้วัสดุและลดการใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ เทคโนโลยีคอนกรีตสำเร็จรูปของ VCON จึงสอดคล้องกับพันธกิจของ UNCCD ในการส่งเสริมการจัดการที่ดินอย่างยั่งยืน การอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ และการสร้างความยั่งยืนให้แก่สังคม VCON รู้สึกเป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งที่ได้เข้าร่วมเป็นพันธมิตรกับ UNCCD และพร้อมที่จะทำงานร่วมกับภาครัฐ องค์กรระหว่างประเทศ และภาคอุตสาหกรรม เพื่อผลักดันนวัตกรรมการก่อสร้างที่ยั่งยืน และร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการแก้ไขปัญหาความเสื่อมโทรมของที่ดินและการแปรสภาพเป็นทะเลทรายในระดับโลก
