Make Scents, Make Sense: Creating Scents, Creating Place, Creating Inspiration for the Future received the DEmark Award 2025 in the Communication Design: Spatial Design category.
The exhibition invites audiences to explore the world of scent through the lenses of history, science, culture, and design. It encourages visitors to see scent not only as a trigger for memory and emotion, but also as a valuable resource with the potential to generate cultural, economic, and sustainable value. By highlighting local botanical resources, particularly those from Northern Thailand, the exhibition reveals how regional materials and traditional knowledge can inspire new opportunities for the creative industries of the future.
The visual identity began with scanning the flowers displayed throughout the exhibition using Photogrammetry. The resulting three-dimensional data was transformed into Point Cloud imagery, which became the foundation of the project’s visual language. Inspired by microscopic scent molecules that come together to create perception, memory, and emotion, the Point Cloud evolved into a visual identity system that connects science, sensory experience, and design. Through this contemporary visual language, the identity communicates the exhibition’s core concept while making an invisible phenomenon perceptible through design.
