Salt Spa is a speculative wellness retreat by JUTI Architects, situated within the salt fields of Samut Songkhram, Thailand. The 2,600-square-metre project is conceived as a low, flowing landscape where architecture, water, salt, and the horizon become inseparable. Curved roofs collect salt-laden moisture and guide condensation back toward the fields, while conical skylights bring filtered daylight into mineral-toned interiors. The program includes reception and lounge areas, a restaurant, spa treatments, soaking pools, meditation, sound healing, yoga, and private pool villas. Beyond wellness, the project supports the sustainable development of the salt-farming community by creating local employment, promoting salt-based products and knowledge, and connecting visitors with the culture of salt production. Partnerships with farmers can generate additional income through guided experiences, local cuisine, craft markets, and wellness products. By preserving working salt fields and reinvesting tourism revenue locally, Salt Spa strengthens the economy, cultural identity, and long-term resilience of the community.
