ท่ามกลางโอบกอดของขุนเขาในแม่ฮ่องสอน “แม่น้ำปาย” ยังคงไหลเอื่อยหล่อเลี้ยงชีวิตผู้คนริมชายแดนมาแสนนาน ที่นี่คือบ้านห้วยปูแกง สถานที่ที่มอบนิยามของความรักและความอบอุ่นให้เราอย่างเรียบง่าย ผ่านรอยยิ้มและการต้อนรับที่แสนจริงใจของชาวบ้านที่ดูแลพวกเราเหมือนลูกหลาน ความร่วมมือร่วมใจของคนในชุมชนคือแรงผลักดันสำคัญที่ทำให้ค่ายอาสาครั้งนี้เต็มไปด้วยความหมายและสำเร็จลุล่วงด้วยดี

หัวใจสำคัญของการเดินทางครั้งนี้คือ “โรงเรียนบ้านน้ำเพียงดิน สาขาห้วยปูแกง” โรงเรียนเล็ก ๆ ที่ตั้งขนานไปกับลำน้ำปาย รายล้อมไปด้วยวิถีชีวิตดั้งเดิมของชาวกะเหรี่ยงคอยาวที่เปี่ยมด้วยเสน่ห์ พวกเราได้ซึมซับความงดงามของวัฒนธรรมและงานฝีมือที่ถักทอด้วยความตั้งใจ

ในทุก ๆ วันที่โรงเรียน เราจะมีเด็ก ๆ ผู้น่ารักแวะเวียนมาส่งเสียงใส ๆ และเล่นสนุกอยู่ใกล้ ๆ เสมอ ถึงจะมีความดื้อซนตามประสา แต่ความสดใสและแววตาที่ไร้เดียงสาของเด็ก ๆ คือพลังใจชั้นดีที่ช่วยเติมเต็มความเหนื่อยล้า เปลี่ยนเป็นเสียงหัวเราะที่ก้องกังวานไปทั่วคุ้งน้ำปาย และจะประทับอยู่ในความทรงจำของพวกเราชาวค่ายตลอดไป

"เรือนประกายดาว" อาคารอเนกประสงค์ที่มีพื้นที
ใช้สอยบนเรือนประมาณ 35 ตารางเมตร ตั้งอยู่ตรงกลางระหว่างอาคารเรียนกับหอพักนักเรียน ข้างๆอาคารมีบ่อน้ำเล็กๆสำหรับการเรียนรู้การเลี้ยงปลาของนักเรียน เดิมทีพื้นที่นี้เป็นพื้นที่ว่างของโรงเรียน โดยตัวเรือนมีความสูงจากพื้นดิน 1.50 เมตร ด้วยเหตุที่เคยเกิดน้ำท่วม ทำให้ต้องยกพื้นขึ้นมาสูงมากกว่าระดับเดิมเพื่อป้องกันน้ำท่วม จึงเป็นที่มาของการออกแบบตัวเรือนที่คำนึงถึงบริบทโดยรอบและเกิดเป็นพื้นที่ใช้สอยเพิ่มใต้เรือนที่ชาวบ้านสามารถทำกิจกรรมหรือนำไปพัฒนาได้เพิ่มอีก 26 ตารางเมตร ในส่วนพื้นเรือนที่ยกระดับสามารถเข้าถึงได้ด้วยบันไดที่เข้าถึงได้ง่าย พื้นที่บนเรือนจะถูกแบ่งเป็น 2 ส่วน
ส่วนเปิด มีม้านั่งยาวเป็นพื้นที่ที่สามารถสัมผัส
ทัศนียภาพโดยรอบได้จากบนเรือนและเป็นส่วนที่
อากาศถ่ายเทมีลมพัดผ่านในเวลากลางวัน ในขณะที่
ส่วนปิดถูกปิดล้อมด้วยโครงคร่าวไม้และกรุด้วยแผ่น
ไฟเบอร์ซีเมนต์ เป็นส่วนสำหรับรองรับกิจกรรม และจุดเด่นที่แผงกันแดดเป็นการใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างไม้ไผ่ที่มีอยู่แล้วเกิดขึ้นจากฝีมือของฝ่ายประชาสัมพันธ์ที่ช่วยกันสร้างแผงกันแดดขึ้นมาให้กับตัวเรือนที่มีวัสดุการเลือกใช้ที่สอดคล้องกับวิถีชีวิตของชุมชน ตัวเรือนทำจากโครงสร้างเหล็กและไม้ และเลือกใช้วัสดุมุงที่มีความแข็งแรง ทนทาน มีอายุการใช้งานที่ยาวนานคือกระเบื้องลอนคู่

’’เรือนประกายดาว‘‘เปรียบดั่งสถานที่ที่จุดประกายให้กับหมู่ดวงดาวได้พร่าง พรายเเสง เป็นที่จุดประกายของความรู้ เเละ ความฝันให้แก่เด็กๆทุกๆคนได้เติบโต เรือนประกายดาวเป็นตัวแทนของเราชาวค่ายทุกๆคนที่เฝ้ามองเด็กๆเติบโตเป็นประกายดาวที่สว่างไสว

Drizzling Rain, Gathering Clouds,
The Stars Fade from Sight;
The Wind Sweeps Through in Grace,
As Radiant Light Fills the Sky.

Amid the embrace of the mountains of Mae Hong Son, the Pai River has flowed gently for generations, nourishing the lives of people along the borderlands. Here lies Ban Huai Pu Keng, a place that redefines love and warmth in the simplest ways—through heartfelt smiles and the sincere hospitality of the villagers, who cared for us as if we were their own children. The unity and cooperation of the community became the driving force that made this volunteer camp meaningful and successful.

At the heart of this journey stands Ban Nam Phiang Din School, Huai Pu Keng Branch, a small school nestled alongside the Pai River and surrounded by the traditional way of life of the enchanting Kayan long-neck Karen community. Here, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the beauty of their culture and the craftsmanship woven with dedication and care.

Every day at the school, the children's cheerful voices and playful presence filled the surroundings with life. Though mischievous at times, their innocence, bright smiles, and sparkling eyes became our greatest source of encouragement, turning our exhaustion into laughter that echoed along the curves of the Pai River. These precious memories will remain forever in the hearts of all camp participants.

“Prakaidao Pavilion" (House of Shining Stars) is a multipurpose building with approximately 35 square meters of usable space. It is situated between the school building and the student dormitory, beside a small pond used as a learning space for fish farming activities. Originally, this area was an empty space within the school grounds.

The pavilion is elevated 1.50 meters above the ground due to previous flooding incidents. The raised structure was designed in response to its environmental context, not only to protect the building from future floods but also to create an additional 26 square meters of usable space beneath the house, where villagers can gather and carry out various community activities.

The upper level can be accessed easily by a staircase and is divided into two sections. The open area features a long bench, allowing visitors to enjoy the surrounding scenery while benefiting from natural ventilation and cooling breezes throughout the day. Meanwhile, the enclosed area , framed with timber and clad in fiber-cement boards, is designed to accommodate a variety of activities.

One of the pavilion's highlights is its bamboo sunshade panels, handcrafted by the Public Relations team using locally available bamboo. This design reflects the community's way of life and demonstrates the thoughtful use of natural resources. The pavilion itself combines steel and timber structures and is roofed with durable corrugated cement tiles chosen for their strength and longevity.

Stars symbolize hope, achievement, and guidance—much like a heartfelt blessing.

"Prakaidao Pavilion" represents a place that ignites the brilliance of countless stars. It is a space where knowledge and dreams are kindled, empowering every child to grow and shine. The pavilion stands as a symbol of all the camp participants, who will continue to watch over these children as they blossom into radiant stars, illuminating the world with their light.

และเป็นมิตรภาพที่จะคงอยู่ข้างในใจตลอดไป🤎

เรือนเจ้าพายุ

อาคารเรียนชั้นเดียวขนาดเล็กหลังนี้ สร้างขึ้นเพื่อให้เด็กนักเรียนในวัยอนุบาลไม่กี่สิบคนได้ใช้เป็นห้องเรียน และทำกิจกรรมอื่นๆ ส่วนสาเหตุที่ค่ายอาสาเราเลือกสร้างในโรงเรียนบ้านเกาะพลวยนี้ ก็เพราะทางโรงเรียนกำลังมีโครงการที่จะสร้างอาคารอนุบาลอยู่ก่อนแล้ว แต่ยังขาดแคลนงบประมาณเนื่องจากโรงเรียนตั้งอยู่บนเกาะ ทำให้วัสดุมีราคาสูงมาก และยังขาดผู้มีความสามารถในการทำแบบ และก่อสร้างให้สำเร็จ

เราจึงตัดสินใจสร้างอาคารเรียนชั้นเดียวที่มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 50 ตรม. ใช้ฐานรากแข็งแรง พื้นเป็นคสล. หนาแข็งแรง มีคานคสล.รองรับ โครงสร้างหลักของอาคารเป็นเหล็ก ส่วนโครงคร่าวผนัง และจันทันใช้เป็นไม้เพื่อให้สะดวกในการต่อเติมหรือปรับปรุง ผนังเราเลือกก่ออิฐบล็อกสูงประมาณ 1 เมตรเพื่อป้องกันน้ำเข้าให้ได้มากที่สุด รูปด้านอาคารเราตั้งใจให้เรียบง่ายเพื่อไม่ให้โดดเด่นจากบริบทพื้นที่เหมือนเป็นของแปลกของชุมชน วัสดุเกือบทุกชนิด เราได้เลือกให้เหมือนอาคารรอบๆที่มีอยู่ก่อนแล้ว ในส่วนรูปด้านสกัดอาคารที่เปิดมุมสู่ธรรมชาติ เราเลือกให้เป็นช่องเปิดโล่งเพื่อใช้ประโยชน์ของวิวให้ได้มากที่สุด และด้านสกัดอีกด้านหนึ่ง เลือกใช้บล็อกช่องลมเพื่อปิดวิวที่ไม่น่ามอง แต่ยังคงรักษาการไหลของอากาศ

บ้านหลังนี้ใช้เวลาเพียง 20 วัน แรงงานไม่ถึง 20 คน ที่ไม่ได้เป็นช่างมืออาชีพแต่อย่างใด จึงถือว่าเป็นความท้าทายของงานก่อสร้างที่มีปริมาตรคอนกรีตมากเท่านี้ แต่เพราะชาวค่ายทุกคนที่มีความตั้งใจ มีจิตอาสา และที่สำคัญต้องขอบคุณชาวบ้านเกาะพลวยที่น่ารัก ที่มาช่วยพวกเราทุกวัน ไม่ใช่แค่ก่อสร้างเท่านั้น แต่ยังดูแลปากท้องเราเป็นอย่างดี
งานก่อสร้างบางอย่างที่เราทำไม่เป็นชาวบ้านก็ยื่นมือเข้ามาช่วยสอนและให้ความรู้เสมอ เราไม่รู้จะขอบคุณหรือตอบแทนด้วยวิธีไหน นอกจากตั้งใจสร้างเรือนนี้ให้ออกมาสมบูรณ์ให้ได้มากที่สุดเท่าที่เราจะสามารถทำได้ เพื่อให้อาคารหลังนี้เป็นสิ่งตอบแทนและให้ประโยชน์สูงสุดแด่ชุมชนที่น่ารักแห่งนี้

ส่วนชื่อเรือนเจ้าพายุ ก็ตั้งมาจากเหตุที่ระหว่างก่อร่างสร้างเรือนนี้ขึ้น เกิดฝนตกพายุหนักซัดข้าวของกระจุยกระจายเป็นประจำทุกยามบ่าย ชื่อเจ้าพายุนี้จึงมีนัยยะว่าเรือนนี้จะแข็งแรงทนทานลมพายุ และพร้อมที่จะให้เด็กๆมาใช้งานโดยปราศจากความกลัว เหมือนบ้านที่แข็งแรงที่สุดในเรื่องลูกหมูสามตัว ซึ่งเกิดจากความสามัคคีของเหล่าลูกหมูนั่นเอง
เรือนเจ้าพายุ
This little one-story classroom was built for just a few dozen kindergarten kids—to give them a space to learn, play, and grow safely together. We chose to build it at Ban Koh Phaluai School, a small school on an island that had long been dreaming of a new kindergarten building. But the school lacked the budget to make it happen—materials are expensive on an island, and skilled labor even harder to come by.

So our volunteer group stepped in, hoping to turn that dream into something real.

The building is about 50 square meters. We gave it a solid reinforced concrete foundation and floor, strong enough to last. The main structure is steel, with wooden framing and rafters to make future repairs or changes easy. We built low block walls—just a meter high—to keep out as much water as possible when storms roll in.

We kept the design humble. Nothing too flashy. We wanted the building to blend into its surroundings, not feel like something strange or out of place in the heart of this tight-knit community. Most of the materials match those used in nearby homes and schools. On one side, we left the wall open so children could look out over the trees and sea. On the other side, we used breezeblocks to filter the view—blocking what we didn’t need to see, while letting air move gently through.

It took just 20 days, and fewer than 20 people to build. None of us were professionals. But we showed up every morning, rain or shine, with hearts full of hope. It was tough work—especially all that concrete—but what got us through was the love and generosity of the people of Koh Phaluai.

They helped us build. They cooked for us. They taught us what we didn’t know, and shared what they had, every single day. Their kindness reminded us why we were really here—not just to put up walls and roofs, but to build something meaningful, together.

So we poured everything we had into this little house. It may not be perfect, but it was made with care—hands and hearts working side by side. We hope it will be a place of joy and comfort for many years to come.

We named it Ruean Chao Phayoo—“The Storm Shelter”—because nearly every afternoon, just like clockwork, a fierce tropical storm would roll in—blowing our things around and washing the site in rain. But it also made us stronger. The name became a quiet promise: that this little house would stand steady through any storm, and be a safe, welcoming space for the children. Like the brick house in the story of The Three Little Pigs—built with love, teamwork, and courage.
