Our field is the art and science of designing, building, and maintaining structures that are safe, efficient, and durable. We use our knowledge of physics, mathematics, and materials science to design structures that can withstand the forces of nature, such as wind, rain, and earthquakes. We also design structures that are able to support the weight of their own materials and the loads that will be placed on them, such as the weight of people, furniture, and equipment.

Structural engineering is a critical field that plays a vital role in our society. Structural engineers are responsible for designing the buildings, bridges, roads, dams, and other structures that we rely on every day. Without structural engineers, our world would be a much more dangerous and unstable place.
