Pour cette 16e édition de la Biennale de Dakar, le Comité d’Orientation a porté son choix sur Morad Montazami, Directeur de Zamân Books & Curating pour assurer la Direction artistique.
Historien de l’art, éditeur et commissaire d’exposition, Morad Montazami a la mission de développer un projet curatorial original prenant en compte la spécificité de la mission et des valeurs de la Biennale de l’Art africain contemporain.
Le concept général porte sur l’« (Anti)fragilité: arts de la réparation et stratégies du contrecoup ».
Aux yeux du Directeur artistique, être (anti)fragile, c’est l’attitude consistant à faire de la fragilité une force (expressive et artistique) en valorisant le lien social et communautaire (la co-création).

For the 16th edition of the Dakar Biennale, the Steering Committee has selected Morad Montazami, Director of Zamân Books & Curating, to serve as Artistic Director.
An art historian, publisher, and exhibition curator, Morad Montazami is entrusted with developing an original curatorial project that takes into account the specific mission and values of the Biennale of Contemporary African Art.
The overarching concept centers on “(Anti)Fragility: arts of repair and counter-shock strategies.”
For the Artistic Director, to be (anti)fragile is to adopt an attitude that transforms fragility into a strength—both expressive and artistic—by emphasizing social and communal bonds, particularly through co-creation.
