Our company, Yeamaco Engineering Services Sierra Leone Limited, was first contracted by a private individual client based in Australia, to carry out technical and structural assessments on their building project in Kogbo tree, off Peninsula road, Ogu Farm, as a result of been unsatisfied with the work done by a so-called engineer who failed to meet industry regulatory standards. Since the collapse of buildings is becoming alarming, our team of qualified engineer and technicians were put together for the assessments, which were carried out independently, and to our dismay, we discovered a lot of flaws that could have endangered the lives of future occupants if those issues were left without been rectified. Our team of technicians did a report, providing recommended solutions to the client regarding those issues unravelled. However, the client eventually thought it fit to contract us so that we can rectify the issues discovered and continue with the project due to our competence and professionalism in executing construction projects. As it is now, we have been able to rectify the issues discovered and we are forging ahead with the project set within the first phase. And so far, our client is well satisfied with the work we are doing.

I had the privilege to meet with Engineer Lansana Kainessie, who is a well seasoned civil engineer, to discuss strategies on how to mitigate or eradicate issues that are prone to affect the outcome of projects through constructive mechanisms that could help facilitate ways of resolving arising issues. Sometimes, issues arise before or during the time of executing a project, either from internal or external forces. Our discussions were centered around blending appropriate administrative principles with practical field work to ensure a balance so that challenge(s) can be addressed without generating into multiple challenges. Our experiences in the construction industry and administrative principles were shared for better management of both human and financial resources (project funds) to help pave the way for client satisfaction, which must be our priority by applying quality control measures and also maintaining standard regulations within the construction industry as well as other industries we operate.
