Breda Bizjak graduated on the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, University of Ljubljana, in 2002. Colaborated in the office Sadar Vuga arhitekti from 2001 - 2003. Registered as independant architect in the field of culture since 2003. Founder and director of architectural office BB ARHITEKTI since 2007. Member of the Association of Architects of Ljubljana since 2008. Registered as professional architect in Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) in 2009. AWARDS:
2012 - European Prize for Urban Public Space 2012 for Renovation of the banks of the River Ljubljanica,
contributing with the project Pavilion at the Petkovšek embankment and the Pier at the Grain bridge.
2014 - Piranesi award 2014 /finalist/ for Kindergarten "Mavrica" in Brežice, Slovenia.
2014 - Mies van der Rohe 2015 award /finalist/ for Renovation of the banks of the River
Ljubljanica, contributing with the project Pavilion at the Petkovšek embankment and the Pier at the
Grain bridge. COMPETITIONS:
2004 - 2nd prize for the project – The regulation of river banks of Ljubljanica and Gruber canal,
2004 - 2nd prize for the project – The regulation of city centre in Slovenj Gradec,
2006 - 2nd prize for the project – The regulation of city park and river bank in Laško,
2006 - 1st prize for the project – The urbanistic and architectural regulation of Nazor square in Koper,
2008 - Honourable mention for the project - Butcher's bridge in Ljubljana market place,
2010 - 1st prize for the project – School and sport centre Dobrepolje,
2011 - 1st prize for the project – Kindergarten "Mavrica" in Brežice

Austrougarske fortifikacije i topničke bitnice na širem pojasu Premanture čine jedinstveni kulturni krajolik vojne arhitekture i prirode. Interpretacijski centar Ćukovica pruža posjetiteljima intrigantan uvid u vojnu prisutnost u posljednjih 150 godina te suodnos s mještanima najjužnijeg istarskog mjesta.

Exhibition "PINNED! Transforming Ljubljana with urban acupuncture" was opened yesterday at Kunstlerhaus Factory in Wienna. Our two pins, The pavilion at the Petkovšek embankment (2007) and The pier at the Grain bridge (2010), were also exhibited among 50 projects for Ljubljana.

"PINNED! explores the visionary urbanism that has shaped Ljubljana over the past twenty years – a vision intended to make Ljubljana a more animated, connected, liveable, and human-centred contemporary city.
This bold and substantive transformation drew attention and admiration from all corners of Europe and well beyond for its ambitious, innovative, visionary efforts – and culminated in recognition in the form of the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2012, the European Green Capital Award 2016, and more." Izložba “PINNED! Preobrazba Ljubljane s urbanom akupunkturom” otvorena je jučer u Kunstlerhaus Factory u Beču. Naša dva projekta, Paviljon na obali Petkovšek i Pristanište uz Žitni most izloženi su među 50 odabranih projekata za Ljubljanu.

“Izložba „PINNED!” istražuje vizionarski urbanizam koji je oblikovao Ljubljanu tijekom posljednjih dvadeset godina – viziju čiji je cilj bio pretvoriti Ljubljanu u živahniji, povezaniji i ugodniji suvremeni grad prilagođen čovjeku.
Ta je odvažna i temeljita preobrazba privukla pozornost i izazvala divljenje diljem Europe i šire zbog svojih ambicioznih, inovativnih i vizionarskih nastojanja, a rezultirala je i priznanjima kao što su Europska nagrada za urbani javni prostor (2012.) te titula Europske zelene prijestolnice (2016.).“ (preuzeto iz teksta za izložbu)
