As architects and engineers with 25+ years in Singapore, we’ve seen how small design checks keep pets safe and homes intact. For a recent Ean Kiam Place renovation, four simple inspection points made all the difference: durable, scratch‑resistant flooring; smoothed thresholds to stop tripping; secure balcony barriers; and strong cabinet closures to prevent curious paws from getting hurt. We handled the details so the owners could relax - and their dog could explore safely. Want a pet-proof check for your place in Ean Kiam Place? Moving into a new HDB flat? I’ve walked this path many times — a good defect checklist saves time, money and stress. Here are practical steps to inspect your home like a pro:

• Break the flat into zones: walls, ceilings, flooring, doors/windows, electrical points, plumbing, kitchen/bathroom fixtures, balcony.
• Bring the right tools: checklist (print or digital), phone camera, flashlight, tape measure, level.
• Inspect room by room. Note specifics (e.g., “10cm hairline crack near living-room window”) and take photos.
• Prioritise: safety issues like leaks, electrical faults or structural cracks = high priority. Cosmetic fixes = low priority.
• Use a ready-made HDB defect checklist template to stay thorough and organised.
• Keep records and follow up: date-stamp photos, set reminders and confirm repairs are completed.

If you want a hassle-free handover, Ark Interior brings 25+ years’ local construction experience and a proven 3-stage inspection process — we specialise in defect checks and renovation follow-ups so your home is truly move-in ready.
