The Singapore Architecture Collection presents a conversation with Ar. Chan Soo Khian, Founding Principal of SCDA Architects.
From a childhood spent in a historic shophouse in George Town, Penang (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site), to a practice of five offices worldwide, he traces the path behind one of Singapore's most distinctive architectural firms. In this candid conversation, he shares rare reflections on the spatial ideas at the heart of his work, and the conviction, discipline and optimism it takes to carry them across scales, geographies and changing times.
Recorded during SCDA30: Beyond Boundaries at the URA Centre (5 June – 30 July 2026), the conversation marks SCDA's donation of artefacts to the Singapore Architecture Collection, tracing how the practice's ideas took shape over three decades.
